BYU sends out really cool swag boxes to their former players that are now in the NFL. They look amazing and I would love to have one, but the only things the school sends me are letters or phone calls asking me to donate money to them.

Serving as a bishop continues to be both incredibly rewarding and extremely challenging. One thing I didn't expect with this calling is how many people reach out via the church's website to ask for a place to stay while they vacation in Tokyo.

The kids have been in Japanese public school for just over a month now - here's what I've loved about the experience: 1. The kids are the custodians. The wipe down the floor, the chalkboards, their desks, take out the trash. Its a group effort that everyone participates in. 🧵

I've been married for nearly 8 years and a father for 6.5, but as of today, I can finally say I spent an entire year (365 consecutive days) with my wife and kids and have been able to say goodnight and good morning to them in person. It's been a great year.

I went to church in Ueda, Nagano yesterday. I served in the Ueda branch 16 years ago to the day. At the time, there were about 10 members. Yesterday, the same 10 members were all in attendance. Their Faith in and commitment to Jesus Christ and His Gospel is inspiring.

Japanese football game notes: 1) The band played “Zip-a-dee-do-dah” multiple times. 2) After a player had a questionable hit on a sliding QB, he turned towards the opposing sideline and bowed to apologize. 3) Both teams bowed towards each other before and after the game.
