Republicans say they are being “compassionate” by providing $$ for child care, parental leave, etc. as part of their abortion ban. But that is not a substitute for abortion, and NC deserves those things IN ADDITION TO the right to choose.

CW: mental health, suicide // I attempted suicide at age 15. When I got to college as a first year it got bad again and I had to start all over with medication, etc. I love UNC, but it was terrible for my mental health.

I didn’t realize I needed to clarify this, but student journalists aren’t special or better than anyone else. They just deserve respect. Everybody does. All young people deserve to be taken seriously. 🤍

Student journalists deserve your respect even when they don't make national news. I was 19 years old doing a job that is still difficult for me at 24, and juggling school on top of it. The work they do is important whether it's breaking big news or covering a meeting.

Flagging this again to say: Republicans only need three more House seats and two more Senate seats to have a supermajority. Five seats. That’s the only thing stopping them from further restricting abortion in our state.

I don't really like telling people that their best option is to go vote, but if you live in North Carolina you need to know that the only thing protecting abortion access now is Roy Cooper and/or the lack of a Republican supermajority in the legislature.

I grew up going to the Wake County libraries and I can assure you I read plenty of books with sexual scenes involving straight people but nobody waged a campaign about that.
