I hate weddings. There I said it. In town weddings are bad, and out of town weddings are even worse. So expensive. How about you as family/friend, you tell me you are getting married, I mail you a check for $200-$300, save you and me the trouble? Thoughts?
Need a favor from my followers. Please say a little prayer for my family. Not sure I want to share fully .. might over time, but just going thru a really rough day. No friends that really care and family that cares is on the other side of the planet. Its tough being alone.
@FrogMoonMama
Companies do this. Best to be as nice as possible (never burn bridges). The truth is, in the end no one is going to do anything about it anyways.
Some folks laughing at me for locking up $40k for $170/month interest. For me, its just part of my asset allocation/portfolio management so I can sleep at night. Hey, if you can make 90% non stop in this market, be my guest!
So close to my estimate of $10k for this month (dividends + interest only), but unfortunately did not break it. Next year 🙏. This is the month and the year tallies:
Feeling a little down. Been buying a lot lately (you guys see my tweets), but it just seems no matter how much $ I'm putting to work, the needle (yearly dividends) only moves ever so slightly higher!! I need about 3x what I have in right to get where I want to be!!
What is your current age and the age you want to retire? How will you get there? I'll start -> 47 years old, I want to retire by 55-58 range. I'm buying income every day (as you can tell from my tweets). Hope for dividends to cover my day to day expenses!
As you all know, I'm really passionate about
#dividends
and
#investing
etc. I try to talk about all this (investing/money/dividends etc) with the family. Wife gets a little annoyed sometimes. I do it hoping her/kids will pick up something. How do you deal with this?
FYI - if you have idle cash at Schwab brokerage accounts. Its earning ~0.4% yield. At Fidelity its earning ~4%. I maybe moving some funds around, or you can buy 2-3 months treasury bills, earning 4.3-4.3%. Thats 10X your interest risk free!!!
Simply thrilled. No words can express it. I love these end of quarter months. I could not have done this without
#divX
family. Sept 2024 dividends + interest income = $11,084.25
Picked up the following this morning:
5 shares $DIVO
3 shares $DGRO
2 shares $SCHD $TD $CM
1 share $JNJ $VZ $BNS
$100 into $AMGN $PG
$50 into $SPY
$25 into $APD $GLD
These last 3 days and the next 3 to 4 days are without dividends and I'm itching like a crack addict every time I log into my accounts.... anyone else like this?
I'll share with you guys, don't want to share at the party. I updated my holdings on after maybe 6-9 months. Anyhow went from roughly $42k to now showing $54,582. That's without the CD/Tbill interest. Little over half way to $100k/year!!
Ok,
#DivTwit
family. You convinced me to start a position in $SCHD. Picked up my first share of $SCHD today. Hold it for life and reinvest the dividends. Hope to get to a 1000 shares. Wish me luck.
Lots of folks hit 1000+ shares of $SCHD this week. Congrats to you all. To the others that are still chasing it (like me) - keep going! We are going to get there. We all on our own journey. Let it motivate you!!
No luck with $SCHD this week for me. I keep eying it, but seems a little high, and no takes on a slight dip for the selling of puts. Oh well... this is the part of the market where you for the most part: do nothing!
Unfollowed a few folks. Folks posting stupid engagement questions etc .. folks that interact with me somewhat regularly but haven't followed back etc.. gone. Political crap ...unfollowed. feels good to clean up.
I try to write this everyday. Helps me keep focused. It will take a while to get there, but everyday I'll do something to help me get there. Keep buying cash flow.

In this market, invest in beaten up companies whose products are used everyday by consumers: $PG $KO $PEP $WMT $WM $COST $KR $TGT $XOM $XLU (pick your favorite utility).. to name a few. Scale in and scale out.
Whats your plan for tonight? For me?.. absolutely nothing. We are not going anywhere. Not one is coming. Simply just the 4 of us and a peaceful evening. Just the way I like it.

We hit 3 stores this little after lunch. 1) Walmart - packed 2) Costco - packed and 3) Home Depot - packed (no parking available!). Don't people know the stock market is crashing?
Boss scheduled a 30 mins meeting. First 20 mins praised me on how him and other management think I'm awesome etc. Last 5 mins, asked me to take on more (with zero $0 more in pay - just a title). I respectfully declined because

Ok .. you guys know I had a goal of a 1000 shares of $SCHD. It took a bit, but I finally got them. Made a bulk purchase today as I wanted to reach the goal before the split!
New Total # of shares = 1002.1599 shares. Now to only add on major dips and to let it compound!
Such a shitty day today. Not the markets, I could careless. I'll share over the weekend... nothing about me or family.. but a few things that made me realize life is fragile and short. Hug your loved ones... talk to someone you miss or haven't connected in a while. now!
Everyone is trying to be beat the markets consistently. Why not just become the market and let others try to beat you? $SPY $VOO

Trade small, buy quality and dividend paying stocks. Diversify. Reinvest dividends. That's all you can do. Don't chase yields and junk stocks. Buy things people use everyday. $pep $ko $wmt $cost $pg $kr $xlu $schd $mo etc.
Dumped all of my $MPW - 35 shares, about -$75. I did sell around 20-30 shares at $11-$12 range a while back, so loss is a lot less than $75... Need to focus on quality!!
@Smartnetworth1
Lol.. more like $3500 for a family of 4... I'm in this boat.. and will continue to work until I can generate way more monthly and or kids start to drop from my plans
$MPW taken back to the woodshed after their earnings. Anyone holding this? I got 10 shares, down about 12% in it total. I'll wait for the earnings drop to end before adding more. Don't want a lot of it - just a more speculative play for high yield. (Max 50 shares)
If you are a disciplined investor, turning off DRIP and reinvesting those dividends manually is a great HACK. Why? You can control where and when you want to deploy that cash to pick up your other positions that might be down.

I might have to start accumulating $SCHD more aggressively in another account - its within my 401k and I'm unable to do options in there (hence my hesitation). What is an acceptable price where you would start to back up the truck on $SCHD? For me, its around the $67-$70 range.
Good morning
#divtwit
family!! Dividends hitting the account:
$JEPI - $27.07 (prev: $24.89).
Most of my dividends are set to go into cash balance, I deploy manually as you know from my tweets, I just keep buying the dip in whatever is dipping on my watch list!
Good news: Dividends & Interest for 2022: $22,341.08
Bad News: I'm down significantly in my account. Dividend stocks have held up well due to DCAing, but the baggage of high growth stocks before my dividend journey allowed me to take a big hit in 2022 total account value.
As I'm making more passive income, I'm talking less and less. Just focused on myself and growing myself and my passive income. On this journey, its common to lose friends along the way - as they don't want to change, just keep doing the same ole same ole.
