The sense of accomplishment of getting the run done before the day really gets started is great. But being able to see the majestic colors that can be created as the sun is just starting to rise is truly awesome! Have a great day!!!

When I started it was a sprinkle and when I was finishing it was a rain… I proved once again that no matter sweet I am - I won’t melt. Just me, my thoughts, a little Van Halen, a little U2, some Pink, and a smattering of Carrie Underwood - all in all a great start to the day!

Well, I got my 4 miles in. They were walked, but I’m okay with that. My goal is to not skip any days - if that means the miles get walked to get them in so be it. And miles at 9,948’ are a little different than miles at 876’. #MorningMiles #Fairplay_CO

Went to the Iowa State Fair this evening. The puppy was pretty excited that we came home - she tends to forget that we were only gone for a couple of hours as opposed to weeks…

Quick recap of the last month and my overall journey July - Got in 390,677 steps, a total of 75.08 miles, and lost 12.9 pounds. Since beginning (February 13) 1,971,471 steps, 114.14 miles, and lost 38.8 pounds. Not there yet, but I'm pretty happy with the progress!

263.4 to start the day! New low - so that's awesome! Managed to get in 14,282 steps yesterday, 25 PU's, 50 SU's, ate 2K calories, and got in the 4 miles! Really happy with Day 88!

Post-Run Update: I did it! Survived the 6 miles—feeling HAPPY and BLESSED! 🎉 The run went really well. I know there's still a long way to go, but today was a big win. Caught this beautiful moment towards the end of my run—couldn’t resist sharing the sky over the windmill.

90 DAYS TO GO! Goals for the day are to get in 10K steps, 25 PU's, 50 SU's, and eat 2K calories. Need to stay incredibly focused on the weight loss - every pound will make the long runs easier. I can relax a little once I crack 240.

Evidently I made a little too much noise when I was getting ready to go for my run. The dog and the cat woke up and insisted on their morning walk and breakfast before the run! On the run I saw some of the neighbors up and moving around! It’s going to be a great day!

266.6 this morning - new low! Happy!!! Yesterday I got in 10,627 steps, 25 PU's, 50 SU's, and ate 2K calories. Should have gotten more steps earlier - to get to 10K I took a rather hot and muggy walk. Still, Day 97 was a great day!!!

4th Week of 17 in Training Today’s goal: run 6 miles. It’s been 12 years since I’ve tackled this distance, and I’m feeling the nerves. 🏃‍♂️💨 I normally wake up and run early in the morning, but today I woke up about 2 1/2 hours early. It was clear I wasn’t getting back to sleep

As I was running in the rain this morning - I ran around an old abandoned mall. It was kind of sad and depressing. It seemed like a good analogy as to why to run and stay in shape. I don't want to end up broken, lonely, and waiting to die. Stay active - stay alive!

81 DAYS TO GO! Goals for the day are to get in 12K steps, 25 PU's, 50 SU's, eat 2K calories and get in 4 miles. Screwed up and did 4 miles yesterday when the goal was actually 3 - I guess that's not bad (just dumb) or maybe I'm just an overachiever.

100 DAYS TO GO! Goals for the day are to get in 10K steps, 25 PU's, 50 SU's, and eat 2K calories. Rest day for the marathon training. I've been traveling this week and I've got date night with my wonderful wife tonight - sometimes that leads to a little overindulgence. 🤞
