this entire thread makes me sad as fuck people dont understand how much work actually goes into writing. yeah i could write "he picked up a pencil" in like 10 seconds, but wtf? that's just a sentence, it conveys no mood, tone, or character [1/??]

The best example I've heard someone give of just the amount of energy it takes to write VS draw, think of how long it takes to write the sentence "The character walks across the room, gets ingredients out of the fridge, and makes a sandwich" vs how long it takes to draw that.

people are more likely to rt art because it doesnt take that much interaction. you dont have to sit down and read 5 pages of prose as opposed to spending maybe 10 seconds looking at a piece of art. it's easier to rt, easier to share. dont have to cut out time to dig into it

i dare everyone who agrees with op to sit down and write a novel. in this case a novel is 50k words. chop chop guys! it only takes 11 hours to write 50k if you type at a speed of 75 wpm. not very hard to do! you can finish a book in under a day! wow!
