BREAKING: The New York State Cannabis Control Board just approved the first 52 adult-use cannabis cultivation licenses for farms across the state.
The first cannabis product on dispensary shelves will come from NY's hard-working family farmers, not out-of-state corporations.
In less than 24 hours, New York can purchase tested, safer cannabis products grown by local farmers.
And in a historic win, revenue from cannabis sales will be reinvested directly into the communities that need it most. This is a major step in our path forward.
BREAKING: The first 15 adult-use conditional processor licenses have been approved!
For New Yorkers, this means processors can now turn cannabis plants grown by NY family farmers into products like edibles, vape carts, and oils. Excitement is an understatement!
New York has already expunged more than 300k cannabis possession and sale convictions. Another 100,000 convictions are in the process of being expunged.

Today, we announce that Axel Bernabe will be stepping down from his role as our Chief of Staff and Senior Policy Director. OCM appreciates his hard work in setting the foundation for an equitable and accessible

Take a look inside
#NewYork
's first justice-involved and Black-owned dispensary!
Cannabis prohibition has upended countless lives and no one knows that more than our Black and Brown neighbors disproportionately arrested.
@Potus
' pardon is an essential step toward decriminalizing and destigmatizing cannabis to ensure the industry serves those most impacted.
First: I’m pardoning all prior federal offenses of simple marijuana possession. There are thousands of people who were previously convicted of simple possession who may be denied employment, housing, or educational opportunities as a result. My pardon will remove this burden.
In 1964 a Holocaust survivor and organic chemist named Raphael Mechoulam was the first researcher to identify THC as the cannabinoid that makes you feel high.
For this, he’s known as the father of cannabis research.

We’re changing that. Take a look.👇🏽

on her new role as NYC Cannabis Czar.
We’re confident she'll be a powerful ally as we build New York’s market to be the most accessible and diverse in the nation.
Bad actors selling untested cannabis from unlicensed shops are undermining the

In collaboration with
@GovKathyHochul
and
@NewYorkStateAG
, OCM padlocked this business ensuring that our retail licensees can thrive.
The
#NYCCB

Once regulations are in effect, each adult is permitted to grow up to 6 plants, with a maximum of 12 plants per household.
We're building a market for small players, for big players, for medium-sized players, for family businesses.
And we're getting it started with New York farmers growing high-quality, sun-grown cannabis available at adult-use dispensaries later this year!
Their ability to craft cannabis into a boogeyman led to the Marijuana Tax Act in 1937, which effectively made it illegal and led to more than 1 million cannabis related arrests in New York.

approved agreement terms in hopes of continuing the CAURD program.
If the NYS Supreme Court approves the agreement terms, it will mark the end of the injunction and spark a new wave of

dispensary openings.
100%! That's why in New York, we expunged over 400,000 cannabis related offenses and established those most harmed by these injustices will own our first adult-use dispensaries.
Equity isn't a goal of our office, it is THE goal.
Some Americans are making *billions* of dollars from cannabis, while far more are spending their lives in prison for doing the exact. same. thing.
If that's not injustice, we don't know what is.
It's simple, a competitive cannabis market in New York, built upon principle of equitable access will increase entrepreneurial innovation and consumer experiences across the state.
Damian Fagon the Chief Equity Officer of
