Every coach, announcer and analyst that has played basketball has been on the wrong side of a butt happens, does not discount 29 wins and a spot in the Elite Eight.I am proud of our team and the program.Go Illini!
Coleman,Jalen,Nimari, Two McDonald’s All Americans on the same team.Guess who lead the team in assists? My son has always been a point forward. That’s who he is
I had a great visit to U of Illinois this past week. I attended several practices and the public open practice.I want to thank the coaching staff, support staff and the hardest working managers that I ever seen. They made me feel welcomed,Well oiled machine.
When you have a game when you obviously didn’t play well, you make no excuses, look in the mirror and go back to have to have a short memory and go to the next game.”It is what it is”
If you don’t have kids competing in college, you don’t understand the anguish and nerves you feel when you watch them play.Tomorrow my daughter Bailey plays against Kansas State and my son Coleman plays against Ohio university and I will be a nervous parent watching on TV
On this Father’s Day ,I am son leaves tomorrow for the U of Illinois and the Big Ten.I know that I am sending one of the most complete forwards in the country who is ready to compete!
The one question that parents of college athletes get that is most annoying? How are their grades? This is a haters favorite go to,even those close to me.I answer this way
Congrats to my son Coleman Hawkins and his Teammates from prolific prep of Napa California they just won the grind session championship perhaps the only game played in the USA tonight
I want to wish my son Coleman a Happy 19th Birthday. I am extremely proud of my son for accepting the challenge of playing for the U of Illinois and the Big Ten. He has been gone since July ,Covid has stopped us from seeing him, people don’t understand the sacrifice
I am currently watching the Kansas game and I am certain that they did not wake up today feeling that they would lose by a large margin. Every basketball player, every team, takes an ass whooping sometimes. On to the next one!
My message is not about my son,I ask trainers, coaches, and overly involved dads”Where did you play” and I have found that the most critical people have never played basketball😂
A lot to work on and clean up and they have week to do so.Those people that jumped off the ship after the 3rd game.Thank you for putting your stamp on it!
New AAU dads, leave your score book at home, college coaches will never ask you about it.The leading scorer does not equate to guaranteed offers and if your child is not enjoying the experience,it may be pressure from you
Looking back at things,my son faced questions for choosing Dream Vision,Prolific Prep and U of Illinois. He has 5 former teammates that are involved with the NBA Draft process. What of blessing to be surrounded by so much talent.Good Luck to all of them!
@John_Fanta
I am extremely proud of my son because he was very respectful to other universities, he did not want to waste their resources with the free trip. He was very methodical in his choice of schools.

As you can tell, I know who we are dealing with with all those negative comments so silence prevails in my camp.I’m a child of the 70s from the south side of Chicago where we were raised with class
Please don’t ask for help with recruiting your kid and then say you want them to stay “close to home”I can’t help you.All four of my own kids took scholarships out of state
I tried to go to bed last night at a reasonable hour, but before I turned the TV off,ESPN re-broadcasted Illinois versus Wisconsin basketball so I stayed up till 3:30 AM
Just some friendly advice for parents with kids entering High School.Your kid does not have to play varsity as a freshmen to be recruited. Not one college coach will ever ask you about it,only people in the barber shop care about that.
