Jamaal Lascelles, what a bloke. He stood up as a 22 year-old in a team of mercenaries, was given the armband, and saw us back to the Premier League. 6 years later, he captains the side and puts in an excellent performance in a historic CL win. The definition of a leader.

Debuts truly don't get much better than that. One of the finest I've ever seen from a #NUFC player. Completely nullified both Jack Grealish and Jeremy Doku, was tidy with the ball, and came up with a goal-saving challenge. Valentino Livramento. Phenomenal.

It'll go under the radar, but Sean Longstaff has played all 270 minutes in the last 8 days, and done pretty well throughout. The bloke has one hell of an engine. Never stops pressing, protects us in transition, and helps sustain attacks. Our most underrated player. #NUFC

A few big individual performances in there, but only 1 candidate for MOTM for me: Joe Willock. Did a job defensively to protect Burn, was the glue in possession on the left, and was a huge threat with the ball. And to top it off, an assist of real quality. Some player. #NUFC

Emil Krafth deserves so much credit for his performance today. A couple of important recovery runs, and tidy in the final third. I'd forgotten just how good his upper body strength was too. Credit to Howe as well. It's not easy to keep your fringe players in such good nick.

Fabian Schär by the way, phenomenal. The levels he's consistently maintained over the last 18 months have been astounding. An increasingly reliable defender on top of a passing range which isn't matched by many CBs in world football. He's genuinely one of the best in the PL.

Sven Botman would be a longshot, but he more or less typifies what we need. Left footed, good on the ball, and has good defensive fundamentals. Lloyd Kelly would be a more attainable alternative. #NUFC

What a special evening yesterday must've been for Sean Longstaff. A boyhood fan, came through the academy, broke through under Rafa, had a serious knee injury, and is now one of our most consistent performers. And last night, he captained #NUFC to a famous win. What a story.

Sven Botman, absolute Rolls Royce of a defender. MOTM performance today. Didn't put a foot wrong all game. Picked the right moments to step up and to drop off, won his duels, and was very tidy with the ball. A top, top centre-half - and he's still only 22. #NUFC

That's a number 9, by the way. It's not normal for a player to have the stature, goalscoring ability, technical quality and ball-carrying that Alexander Isak does. A footballing unicorn.
