. @KingsCollegeLon is fully aware of the fact that Israel killed two of my family members and abducted my father in addition to killing former KCL students and affiliates. But this did not prompt any shift in policy or any meaningful change in public expressions of concern.

Difficult to be part of an institution that still refers to Israel’s genocide in Gaza as a “humanitarian crisis in Gaza and Israel.” KCL has Palestinian staff, myself included, and still chooses to show us everyday that atrocities against us literally do not warrant concern.

Yes. And just before I was denied boarding my flight, @easyJet sent a plane full of Israelis to Tel Aviv without a problem. In my case, “recent events” came up to explain said “change of rules”.

@KingsCollegeLon has instead chosen to engage in public incitement against our students who have been camping out and making lawful demands for months. Escalation is tactic of protest. The only people at risk are these students who mostly come from marginalised backgrounds.

EasyJet apologised — after I threatened legal action and thanks to pressure from you and MEE (thank you!). What matters is that they do not do this to another Palestinian again, now that there’s public record of the incident and an official acknowledgement of malpractice.

I still have not received an acknowledgment from @easyJet that I was wrongly denied boarding my Cairo-bound flight. I was so far told that staff were “only following the information provided.” I cannot believe they would not admit that they made a mistake and apologise.

Deeply concerning about this statement is how easily it establishes a link between student protesters many of whom are Muslim and “aggressive” behaviour which then okays police presence. This kind of language is thoughtless, dangerous, and should never be normalised.

I sent them a photo of the visa I received in Cairo upon arrival as proof, but nothing that approaches an apology for their racist behaviour and invocation of “recent events” has been forthcoming. I also just learned that they did the same thing to another Palestinian from Gaza.

If the intention behind this statement is “impartiality” then nothing could be less impartial. Being impartial means acknowledging the facts of the situation i.e. Israel is committing a genocide, not falsely pretending that Israel is experiencing a “crisis” of equal proportion.
