Cole Palmer on being compared to Gianfranco Zola:
"I know he is an icon on FIFA so he must have been good. To be honest I didn’t really watch him play. Everyone says he was a great player, so thank you.”

Onana - don’t make us look at the market next season
Dalot - win everyone over…no bozo moments (Chelsea, Jesus, and Zaha)
De Ligt - take over
Licha - stay fit
Maz - stay fit
Case - remind everyone that Carra is a tool
Mainoo - look for the forward pass
Bruno - another szn of miracles 🤞🏼
Garna - maybe hit the gym
Rashy - community shield performance every week…don’t fall after soft challenges
Hojlund - add variation to the runs, don’t just rush in (looks to rehearsed)…look up when a counter is on
Mount - stay fit
Zirkzee - no funny business plz
Amad - keep at it, don’t give the manager second thoughts
Shaw - stay fit
Maguire - be ready when called upon
Evans - chill on the sidelines 🤞🏼
Amass - look good in training
Collyer - maybe be in touch with Darren Fletcher
This Bruno striker and Pogba winger bs does my head in. Mostly done to undermine both.
They’re still advanced mids. They just switch between their forward and winger roles seamlessly cause they’re talented enough to execute them without comprising on their midfield duties.
Yoro - have a chat with Ruud…knows a two about getting injured on arrival….not the same but Varane was deputy to Pepe and Ramos…stay calm 🤞🏼
Sancho, Eriksen and McT - make an impact if the opportunity arises before the window ends…probs leaving
People would be a lot kinder to Pogba if they watched him at Juve.
Juve played a back-3 responsible for build up, Pirlo as the DLP, Marchisio as the B2B, Vidal as the high-pressing mid and Pogba was like so advanced. This hybrid mid/wing role is what he’s always been.
Here’s the summarized version:
We messed up with the Ronaldo, Hazard, and Griezzman transfers and football wouldn’t be fair if we don’t get our hands on Mbappe and Haaland in the coming season.
Keep coming back to this vid lol
Never really appreciated how good that individual season was cause we were so used to winning. Probably stacks up better than Rooney’s 09/10 and RVN’s 40 goal season cause of the 15 assists along with the 26 goals.

have a 20% sell on clause for Andreas Pereira.
Ngl felt like Casey Stoney was going to be in for the long haul.
The people upstairs need to start taking action quickly. Whatever criticism we level at OGS, he’s kind of stopping things from imploding on itself.
Good on Ole! He’s assembled the most fun squad since……maybe before 2010 tbh. I don’t think Fergie’s final squad had this many ballers.
I was legit afraid players wouldn’t want to play for us when Mugabe was here cause all the good players wanted to leave.
TACTICAL THREAD: There isn’t a day where we don’t end up with Pogba/Rashford on the left debates so this is a simplified version of why I think the current set up is the way forward and it’ll also include some of my thoughts on OGS.
There’s a brief tactical history lesson.
Erik ten Hag: "I am very proud of the win, I am happy with the loss of Spurs and Villa dropped points. I am happy to be in a semi-final but we have to keep going."
I can see a pattern here. Leave too much space against Utf and you'll be cut through with counters from Tny and Marcus. So you end up falling back and giving territory to Pogba and Bruno who can break a low block over 90 mins. We need someone off the bench who can do the same.
New piece on Donny van de Beek for
@TheBusbyBabe
Feel like most of us are still unsure about what he is, what he can offer, and more. I looked into that.
He only had 524 minutes in the league last season. Don't think that'll be the case next season.
During all this Sancho and two creators in the half-space talk, I forgot to mention that Rashford would probably not look out of place as a center-forward in that set-up. Two creators in Memphis and Mata coming inside were pivotal at the start of his career.
@ValyrianCA
When Pep took over Barca they were a mess. Xavi himself said players like him were extinct. Iniesta a few years before might have gone on loan to Celtic. He sold Ronaldinho and Deco arguably their best players with Rijkaard. He modelled that Barca team into the best.
Constantly hearing about United players playing through pain is a little concerning.
Don’t think it’s a good idea to valorize it with stuff like ‘he’s a warrior’ and all. They won’t be warriors for long if they don’t take care.
Happy with Mason’s decision.
Feel like slacktivism can only go so far.

João Felix and the Kaka comparisons weren’t off then. Such a unique ability. Not really low centre of gravity like Hazard/Messi. Not the skills of a Ronaldinho/Neymar. Just this ability to glide through the field. Perpetual motion. 😍

Rashford facing up Varela is going to be one of those crazy football moments.
Rashford probably doesn't become the player he is today without Varela playing those crosses and generally looking a very promising player in those games where Rashford broke through.

I’ve defended this boy a lot. I used to defend Sterling even though he played for City cause I always thought he had it in him to do what he’s doing now. Rashford is good with the media cause he’s always good in an England shirt. Hope he makes that leap this season.
Erik ten Hag got inventive in the build-up to the 2024 FA Cup final, and it worked a treat.

boss utilised a rousing Al Pacino speech and an emotional account of a military assignment in Afghanistan to inspire his side.

You don’t even need stats to rate Fred like that. People will say the eye test suggests he sucks.
Well, in most games where Fred’s not playing, United drop back like 10-15 yards when they’re out of possession. Your eyes can actually spot that if you try hard enough.
Penalty analysis is annoying af!
Like, Rashford and Jorginho missed. They have a brilliant record. Sterling and Henderson have a woeful record. If they were asked to take them and missed, same peeps would be like why you letting them take it.
Doesn’t add up. If you want to play a more direct style, you don’t just need players who prefer playing in that manner but players with the physicality to maintain that style.
There’s not enough in the transfer activity to suggest this has been the case.

I will always show different football, I did so last year as well. We play much more direct football here because I have the players for that here."

These guys need minutes. Rashford, Martial, Shaw, Greenwood, etc they’ve all had a lot of minutes in a top 5 league since they were like 18-19.
Hoping some of these guys get it as well.

The sheer amount of nutmegs Sancho and Rashy will deliver to the Premier League makes everything worth it.
Nutmegs > titles.
The most important stat in football.
