There's this scene in the movie The Pianist when Nazis execute a man in a wheelchair with impunity. I've never forgotten it. To see Jewish soldiers execute a disabled man with the same impunity is something else I will never forget.

1961. The opening scene of Splendor in the Grass featured Natalie Wood and Warren Beatty making out in a car in the first on-screen "French kiss" where the actors' tongues touched. It was widely considered vulgur, but since that's how people actually kiss, it became the norm.
