1. In 2017 I stood as a @GlasgowCC candidate. I was subjected to racist and misogynistic abuse from my fellow candidate throughout the campaign. It didn't matter how hard I worked to support and promote them, it was never good enough. That I was not good enough.

I will never forget accompanying my father in the 1970s to the police station off Bristol Road after he was mugged and still remember the white police officer calling him a black bastard that should fuck off back home. My father was a self employed businessman.
