@UberFacts Going to the mall. My hometown only had a Walmart and a couple grocery stores, so on the rare occasion when we would gas up and drive to the “big city” it always felt like we were in a different world. Walking through the mall felt like a metropolitan paradise

My cardio health is not great. It really took a hit after Covid and then becoming a first time dad. Because heart disease and type 2 diabetes run in my family, I really want to get back on track physically so I can be there for my family well into old age. Walking to work helps!

Today, after weeks of patience and consistency, we finally got the toddler potty trained. I am absurdly proud of her. I love my kiddos. I love my wife. Serving my family and leading them to heaven is my life’s calling. It demands a lot of sacrifice, but it’s totally worth it.

The Eucharistic procession on the St. Elizabeth Anne Seton route is making its way down the Ohio River now to our cathedral in wheeling. Here are some pictures of our Bishop, in benediction, on a riverboat. Catholicism is alive and well in here in Appalachia.

The spotlights and live bands certainly create a mood, but what about when the flashy lights are gone and there’s only silence? Are we setting these young people up for success in the long term, or just disappointment when the emotional high wears off?

When I was looking into becoming Catholic in 2013, then Fr. Barron was the primary Catholic YouTube guy. His videos were invaluable. They offered simple concise explanations of Catholic teaching. If I were becoming Catholic today…I have no idea whether I’d go through with it.

@williamjv My wife’s intellect is what attracted me to her. We used to talk on the phone for hours and hours about all kinds of things, including theology. She also makes excellent brownies as well.

@wowitsnicholas I've often thought about these men, who worship the bodies they’ve sculpted for through endurance and self control, but then don't apply the same rules in their interactions with others (especially the way in which they treat women). Self-discipline isn’t just for the gym
