So as a reminder, our kids are not at school because: We did little to mandate smaller class sizes throughout MB, Did nothing about air quality and air exchange systems, And we didn’t learn the lessons of the third wave in other Provinces when we had the time. Any questions?

Here’s what’s insidious re: Ed Prop. tax rebate. Those that can afford to send their kids to private schools just got a huge rebate from this Government. Kids that go to school hungry and lack affordable housing? They still go to school hungry and return to inadequate housing.

Today we called for a Learn at Home Benefit for MB families to help with remote learning. $500 a child, $750 a child with additional needs. The funds can be used to cover the cost of computers and access to the internet. A step that can be implemented now while kids are at home.

Principals and Vice-principals are now out of MTS. New Provincial “Authority Boards” will be appointed by the Minister. The Chair will also be appointed by the Minister. Any chance these Authority Boards will be non-partisan? I doubt it... #mbbpoli

Lots of talk on how we will keep kids and staff safe at school when classes resume. Still have time to ensure good air quality with HEPA filters and smaller class sizes. This can be done when all work collaboratively. I know @MBSchoolBoards is on board is @MBGov up to the task?

One of my questions today in QP. Gov’t cuts to MB Education are hurting schools. Brandon SD is cutting 10 teachers, speech language pathology, psychology and reading recovery. Supports kids need to recover from pandemic. A result of inadequate funding from Gov’t. #MBEd #mbpoli

MB Ed Review. Every teacher knows that unless you deal with child poverty, student progress will be limited. Market based reforms without changing social policy will further marginalize children. Will MB Ed Review recommend we deal with child poverty? I sure hope so. #mbpoli

I'm really concerned for my former colleagues in RETSD. Teachers and school leaders in RETSD have gone above and beyond in responding to the myriad of challenges during the pandemic. How is it possible that @RETTA_mb can't conclude negotiations with @RETSDschools ? #MbEd
