Well, today is the big day. We're heading in for Lulu's surgery shortly. They called last night to confirm. We're nervous. Let's have some of that good juju. They're removing 3 tumors, draining a hematoma in her ear, pulling 2 teeth, and cleaning up a newly broken nail.

Lulu update: I'm all smiles. She slept through the night. She readily takes her food disguised meds. From the boiled roast chicken today she's eaten 2 ladles of brothy rice, 1 ladle broth, 1/3 can dog food, carrot &celery from the broth, some spud from chicken roast. My Ms Piggy

Lulu is out of surgery and in recovery. They got all four tumors. Her ear, the floppy part is stitched to the side of her head. There are staples and heavy duty sutures as well as drain tubes. She'll have strong meds for a few days as well as antibiotics for a UTI. #jujuforlulu

Woohoo!! Good job Lulu!! She managed the stairs and ramp unassisted! Her recovery is coming on strong. She got the drain tubes out yesterday. We cut back pain meds by 1/3 yesterday, she was just too high. The surgical wounds look good.

Lulu update. She is in surgery now. A fourth tumor was found when shaving her, I told them there might be one. They'll remove that mass as well. They said she's been doing well. We don't know how we're getting her in the house, we'll need to fashion a stretcher and carry her. 😕

One year ago today. This is my dad and a therapy puppy. This was the last day I talked to my pop. Shortly after this photo my dad became non responsive. I flew back to GA that night. My dad stayed non responsive for 10 very long days. I cry a lot. I miss him, he was the best

@auntmaggiep I catered for 20 years, I built that gratuity in as a service fee, I had a dispatch/mileage fee. I charged a good amount for my staff because they were gig workers. I was clear with pricing and indicated the tip was built in. Never once had a complaint about costs.

Well, it's the big day. Lulu goes in for her cancer surgery today. I'm just sick at the thought, Lulu is 14, the sedation will be hard on her as well as the recovery. One tumor has grown 5 times the mass in three months, there are 3. The cancer is aggressive. Poor baby girl.

I'm expirimenting before Thanksgiving. This week's weekly roasted chicken is rubbed with mayo then seasoned before roasting. I read it makes for a crispier skin. I usually do mine on the rotisserie, but we'll see how this turns out. Sorry for the mayonnaise haters out there.

The bedroom is now complete. All new linens, mattress topper, mattress protector. Over the weekend I painted and hung the closet doors. Because it's a basement unit, I caulked between the baseboards and floors to minimize insect entrance.

More Lulu updates. #jujuforlulu My baby girl is still at the vets. I'll get her shortly. She's not completely out of the woods. They are doing wound debridement to remove some dead tissue. The wounds are being treated with med grade manuka honey and drugs. Now she'll wear a tee.

We are so very glad we made the difficult decision to have Lulu's surgery. Recovery was slow, and at times difficult for her. Now, it's just a memory for her, she is truly happy.

@Sinfulskin2 Being on public transportation without a mask. I doubt if it's ever going to happen again in my lifetime. I'm okay with that. I like not having a cold or catching the flu or having any kind of respiratory issue. I like feeling healthy.

Amazing! Top is before the bottom is after. It wasn't painful but the sounds in your head were a bit much. I'll hurt like hell soon enough. The denture will stay in until tomorrow afternoon. I can tell the shots are wearing off. Ice pack ready.

Shit! This happened as I was leaving. This little guy was followed off a very busy highway to my house by 3 guys in a work truck, they said he came right to my house. He's there, comfortable but afraid. I have my appts then I'll get him someplace and see if he's chipped. Poor guy

Serious question. Have you ever had an actual flu, the real thing, not a 25 hour bug? I have, twice, swine flu in the 70's and another flu 8 years ago. Both were akin to going to hell and back.

@RichL315 I really believe that if somebody does not like a particular genre, they haven't taken the time to understand the music and where it comes from, how it's formed. I love both hip hop and rap because I took the time to listen and learn. Still don't like country or western too much.

I didn't hate the foot washing commercial aired during the Superbowl. I hate that it's not how Christians act or believe. I hate that their churches spend so much money not helping anyone. Tax the churches until it hurts them. Tax them all.

So this is what Lulu and our little family are dealing with, the tumors. The smaller one lower down is 5-6 moths old. The big one is actually two, they're at about 4 months.

My old buddy sure could use some good vibes. I'm hoping it's temporary, but he came out of his all day vet visit in worse shape than he went in. He had no joint meds yesterday. He could barely get up this morning. He needed help. He skipped breakfast but ate his pills. Crap!

@HarrietThompso1 Heck yeah I can use it! My mom wasn't sending me out in the world unprepared, nor was she taking me back in. First apartment, I blind stitched the bedroom drapes myself. I'm good to have around. Hippie child in the 60's I had to put patches on my jeans myself.

There is no way this dog is even a year old. He's got baby teeth still he's got a few strikes against him and a ton of potential. He is smart. He's got either Aussie or heeler in him.
