if the sex was consensual, nothing was taken from anybody, nobody used the other. because low-key, the mentality that sex is something you gift a man still dey manifest in some opinions. i need my girlies to be free from these archaic sociocultural ideals.
@_littlehuman_
they never talked about how difficult it is for a woman to orgasm. in the books, the man and woman were always climaxing at the same time.
and the fools you date in the future too go dey help you invest in the self-doubt. people wey get entire three-figure body counts. are they regretting their own hoe phases? before they met you, wasn't their entire life an hoe phase? please, don't upset me.

So, I have an idea. As you already know (if you follow my tweets), I'm a music Stan. I love good music, way more than I should. I also like to discuss good music but since I'm an introvert, I rarely get to do that, if ever.
It's a thread. Please RT.
For my first article with 49th street, I wrote a 'funny' article ๐.

Please enjoy, guys. It's a good read, if I do say so myself.
In UY Scuti, Olamide โ an indigenous rapper โ sings in all English. He belts his line in a calm manner, and as expected, we are all surprised. This new side of Olamide is something we were not ready, but we are here for it. I wrote a review of the album.

The food prices in the markets are alarming! What? You'll buy something day before yesterday, come back today and the price has increased by 100 naira. This has been happening since last year, and nobody is saying anything. Make memes out of our adversities or say, "We meuve!"
"The intensity and allure of her voice make it easy to forget that she isnโt really saying anything."
For Afrocritik, I reviewed Liya's EP "Alari". Please read and share โฅ๏ธ.
Funny story. I met this guy two days ago and planned a hookup with him but I had an orgasm yesterday and am no longer interested. How do I tell him I can't see him tomorrow because my eyes have cleared?๐
Acting is an extension of lived experiences, of everyday life. I don't think most Nigerian actors understand that. Even with the minute things, they exaggerate. They act like they are hyper-aware of the camera and hope that we don't notice, but we do. It's so obvious.
Because I know how stressful your week was, I created a likkle something that'll ease your stress. Please, if you are single and you read it, you fit get stroke. If you are less than age 25 and I see you reading, I'll tell your mommy. Now, enjoy.
intimacy transcends physical touch. it's listening to music you both like on a video call. it's sharing a blunt. sharing music opinions. watching him listen to you and smile. laughing together. omo, what is this? I'm so far gone. no be juju be this?
there's something about new romance. the foolish smiles. the light in your eyes. the thinking about them when you are not talking to them. the "you are falling too hard too fast, be in control". you are so beautiful. i like you a lot. be with me.
"She has works in Okay Africa, Native Mag, Culture Custodian, Pitchfork, The Washington Post, The Guardian, The New York Times, and elsewhere. She currently lives in Canada where's she pursuing her masters at the University of Manitoba."
I need to write a Medium article on how I have evolved in music. From Project Fame aspirant, to poet who introduced a little bit singing in her spoken word pieces, to singer, to dancer, and now, music journo. The music gats gree for me by fire, by force ๐.
Students of the Faculty of Arts are just here to clap for their candidate, regardless of whether he's saying anything right or wrong ๐.

The students of UNILORIN present at the Press Night are so easily impressed. Their candidates say the most basic things, and they roar in applause. I'm appalled. When you are suffering under the sun in a queue, remember this day.

It's so important to write stories like this. Stories that will change the status quo, stories that'll positively affect people's lives. Ope does that with every piece he publishes. I'm in constant awe.
In my new piece for

I explored illegal backstreet abortion clinics in Nigeria. 6000 Nigerian women die annually from unsafe abortions in these clinics. I followed the stories of young women who take this route in the face of harsh jail terms.
A couple of weeks ago, I interviewed this artiste, and after I sent the link to the article to him, he said, "Good job with the transcript," and Omo, I felt so seen. My head just went, "Yes! Finally! THANK YOU! My God will merciful you ๐ฅบ." Cos' omo. The struggle is real.
Tiwa Savage's Celia's Song is a worship song, you can't tell me otherwise. And it's not even because of the religious tones. It'd be devoid of the "Halleluyas" and still have credence. I'm always thrown into the spirit when the song plays. รmรญ o ๐คฒ.

Me at the end of every semester: Why didn't you just read after every week? It's easier to assimilate smaller content than when it's compounded.
Me at the beginning of every semester: Does the same thing I regretted last semester.
And the cycle continues.

the way we've normalised fireboy's doings. i don't know if it's a good or bad thing. he's like the kid that always comes first in his class, and because we don't expect anything less, we forget to praise him.
emotion is one of the primary motivators for everything i do, everything i am. there's nothing quite like how something makes you feel. it's unique to just you, it's your experience. logic can be faulted, a contrary argument can be made, and you have an obligation to at leastโ
Abdulbaseet Yusuff, Oluwatomiwa Ajeigbe (special love for this guy), Pelumi Salako, Timi Sanni, Ernest Ogunyemi, Timothy Ojo, Praise Osawuru, Mr. Jide Badmus, a lot of other people that are not coming to my head for some reason.
You might not know this but your likes and retweets tell us a bit about you, your personality & your ideologies. No go dey do serial liking on top Twitter o, especially when it concerns matters that are sensitive.

What are you people trying to prove sef? What will you benefit from not having sex, smoking, or drinking alcohol for a month? I'm in the prime of my youth, don't stress me please.
lmao. checking earlier messages and this boy said, "I can't fall in love right now." one day later, "Fati, my heart is racing and I don't know why."
lmao. emi idan. iwo ke?
I'm aware of the fact that I'll die young if I continue to stay in this country. Might be the educational system. Might be the government. Might be the people.
So, when I see a chance to get out, forgive me if I don't hesitate. I will get out.
Although, Rexxie provides a perfect template for greatness, most of the artistes fail to bring their A-game, and it affects the general coherence of the project. Read my review of Rexxie's A True Champion album on Afrocritik.
I also follow people who love good music on here. People with elite music taste, people who objectively state their opinions on a music project. There's Jerry, there's Foluade, too much to count. I want to discuss with these people but they are so far away.
If you offend me, I'll write an article on you and what you have done, add a couple of literary jargon, and publish it for the whole student body to see. Make you sha sabi. I'm not kind. As you were.
For Afrocritik, I speak to the 35th Miss Nigeria, photographer, and artiste, Monseeka, about her journey from being a beauty queen to branching into photography and eventually, music. It's quite in-depth. Read here.
Musicians, you can release music now. I know many of you are scared of being treated like Reekado Banks, but you will not starve forever.
