Today a man in our local community passed away in Madinah. Mufti Shabbir Ahmed Sb assisted him in reading the kalimah as he passed away. A death in Ramadan in Madinah with the kalimah. I wonder what this man must have done in his life to deserve such a beautiful death...

I rarely buy a book just because it 'looks good'. But I made an exception for this copy of Shamail that I purchased a year ago. This statement of Anas Ibn Malik (RA) really stirs up some emotions.

For those teaching Hadith books, a neat trick is to get the book rebinded with a page in-between. I did this with my Sunan Abi Dawud that I teach. I took the Dar al-Ta'sil one-volume and split it into four volumes with a professional book binding company.

A fantastic book that I have benefitted from in my own book on ḥadīth has been Ahmad Snobar’s amazing Min al-Nabī Ṣallallāhu ʿAlayhi Wasallam Ila’l Bukhārī. A monumental book that you will not be able to put down. The book is essentially a book on the history of the Sunnah.

Ḥāfiẓ al-Suyūṭī, one of the authors of Tafsīr al-Jalālayn, was also known as Ibn al-Kutub. This is because his father asked his mother to collect a book for him from the library. As she went to collect the book, she went into labour and gave birth to Al-Suyūṭī in the library.

A common critique made by orientalists, in fact not even a critique, they treat it as though it is obvious that it happened, is that the muhaddithun were fabricating ahadith in favour of the political administrations that were in charge. This book brilliantly deconstructs this.

So you're the main person in your dawrah class who reads the ahadith for the class and you've just come across the name Buhthah/Bahthah/Bihthah Ibn Sulaym Ibn Mansur. But because your copy doesn't have i'rabs (well done!), you can't work out if it's Buhthah or Bihthah or Bahthah.

Hazrat Thanwi RA would walk 2 miles after Fajar Salah and would read Qur'an during the walk. Whilst reading, he would ponder over the verses and try to use them to answer the Fatawa that he had been asked. He would write these verses down with a pencil and add them to the Fatawa.

Old & new! Mulla Ali al-Qari's commentary upon Mukhtasar al-Manar has been recently republished by Sh. Lua'yy al-Khalili. We will be using it extensively in our course in January. We will begin with an introduction to the development of Fiqh. Only 7 days remain for application!!

What do you get when you put together an American hadith scholar, a Jordanian hadith scholar and a Turkish hadith scholar? This interesting book published by Arwiqah titled Nazriyyah al-Numuw al-Aksi.

I have been waiting for this book like how a child waits for Eid! It is a testimony to the statement of Ibn al-Athir and scholars before him: كم ترك الأول للآخر May Allah Ta'ala bless this work from Mufti Dr @ibn_shabbir . An amazing and important contribution filled with gems.

For those teaching Hadith books, a neat trick is to get the book rebinded with a page in-between. I did this with my Sunan Abi Dawud that I teach. I took the Dar al-Ta'sil one-volume and split it into four volumes with a professional book binding company.

A fantastic book that discusses the various books that are in print written by Ash'ari theologians. It begins with an introduction to the school and its key features. It then divides the books of the school into four sections. The unique feature of the book is its easy language!

My family were in Umrah with my two dear friends who study tafsir with me. They wanted to buy a book for me and so I said, "If they get Snobar's new book, I would kiss them on their foreheads!" Lo and behold they managed to secure a copy. May Allah reward them tremendously. Ameen

When it comes to highlighting and bookmarking, I love pastel colours. The vibrant pink, yellow and green are good too, but the lighter shade of pink, yellow and green add a nice visual effect that make it easy on the eyes.

I was asked by my good friend @Ismaeelbooksuk to write a review for الجواهر والدرر and so I did. I thought it would be relevant to share it here so here is a thread 🧵

Alhamdulillah, our first lesson in the Athar al-Hadith al-Sharif Course will cover the life of the author himself, the muhaddith Shaykh Muhammad 'Awwamah. He is a sayyid from both his mother and father's side and a scholar of impeccable adab. May Allah bless him in his age. Ameen

Alhamdulillah super excited to receive a hard copy of the extremely rare book "Al-Ittijahat al-Fiqhiyyah Inda Ashabil Hadith" by Shaykh 'Abd al-Majid Mahmud. Leather bound from Egypt. Highly praised by Shaykh Abd al-Fattah and others. Can't wait to get into it insha'Allah.

With Qunoot Nazilah insha'Allah being performed in many Masajid from today, here are two places where you can read more about it. The first is very short and the second is a treatise. I will share a scan of both on our telegram channel insha'Allah, and on here too if it allows.

Only for him to properly escape in the 7th round...luckily....we had his slippers. Alhamdulillah, spending time in the company of the awliya' makes the journey all the more blessed. Mufti Sahib spends a lot of his time in Makkah helping and feeding others.

If there is one career that I would genuinely advise students of #IslamicKnowledge to engage in, it is graphics design. A lot of Deeni efforts will benefit from some input of graphics design and your contribution in that regard could be immense. And all Might is with Allah.

The Tree of Īmān! We made this using Ml Idris Khandelwi's Tuhfah al-Ikhwan and it's a brilliant poster to place in a Maktab/Madrasah. You can download the pdf (A4 size) from our telegram channel here:

I recently received this beneficial book from @daralmuttaqin . Here’s a brief review. The book contains 30 beneficial points in relation to the study of Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī. In essence, the book serves as a snippet into the ʿUlūm al-Ḥadīth aspect of Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī.

It has finally arrived! التحقيق الباهر للبعلي is amazing, author is a contemporary of Ibn Abidin. You can see how the author points out the Mufta Bihi position and the Muhaqqiq places it in bold. A huge JazakAllah to @Ismaeelbooksuk for this fantastic delivery. I can't wait!
