When sites say posting to their platform gives them the right to 'redistribute' your art they mean retweets/shares/reblogs. When they say they have the right to 'alter' it they mean file compression and cropping for previews. That said, use a watermark and upload small files.

I suggest: Upload your art at a lower resolution to social media anyway. Watermark: -somewhere in the image that's not easily cropped out. -somewhere where it's hard to paint over. Maybe use a spicy little noise filter. Also watermark with a url instead of a signature.
