Really dug into our players today at practice about mediocrity/culture and expectations. Said a lot that hurt some feelings. Just got a text from a senior and it simply said” thank you coach for loving us enough to say what you said, I love you”. Kid gets it. He will Succeed!

Woke up still disappointed we didn’t find a way last night vs Gaffney…but I am not one bit disappointed in my players and coaches. Kids stood toe to toe with the defending champ for 4 quarters… I saw grit, toughness, players flying around, and A belief in one another!

There’s a lot to be said for opposing coaches talking your kids up when recruiters come by…. I’ve always advocated for my players in those meetings and any player around that is still available. Recruiting is hard right now it’s good to know it’s still all about the kids.

Coaches: When you send out team rosters to the school staff and ask to be notified of any issues that may include your players also ask for positive reports as well. I started this two years ago and it has changed everything. Love giving these positive mentions at practice daily.

Every one of the 4 coaches who are in the CFP talked about one thing most: leadership. If you expect success, leadership has to be great amongst the players. If coaches have to talk you into things success isn’t on the horizon for you.
