My clinic today: myeloma, AML, Mantle cell, TLGLL, Hodgkin, testicular DLBCL, DLBCL, CML. I love hematology and the variety of cases we get to see on any single day!
@not_tanner
Disagree about PE and spleen... What's next? History taking? Exam is useful in clinic and guides testing. Takes <2 mins. Burdening patients and healthcare system with every test under the sun so you can sleep better at night is not good practice. Maybe learn to do better exams
I really hope our desire for truth and humanity's wellbeing is winning over our desire for "dopamine" likes and retweets when sharing scientific information on social media

This year, FI is going virtual!
I am happy to recommend strong applicants. DM for more info.
The designation "Arab" was mostly used to emphasise that the Palestinians were not native, that immigrants were not colonial.
FACT: It is turning out that Palestinians are the ~ closest descendants of ancient Israelites Judeans, Samaritans, + Galileans. They are the natives.

Three of my dad's cousins were killed in Gaza this week. Marzouq Samour was killed with his wife May and five children Hadeel, Ghazal, Farah, Nour, and Yousef Samour.
Absolutely. That was a strange take to say the least. Some of us would rather be lazy on a weekend 😅 but having hobbies helps avoid burnout so we can take better care of our patients.
I have an interest I photography. In recording music. Things I picked up and have made my life fuller and more rewarding.
That doesn’t mean I’m less competent in medicine and have to take multiple choice questions every 3 months to prove my worth.

A man on a motorbike was hit by a car today. After making sure he's okay and the police/EMS were called, he said: "I can't go to the hospital. I just lost my job. I don't have insurance. We are expecting a baby on Monday."
Heartbreaking. We can do better.

Lovely patient seeing me for the 1st time: "Reading your name, I thought you would be short and fat"
Patient at the end of the visit: "Don't get short and fat"
I love my patients ❤️ Always boosting my self-esteem 😂

I always love prying into people's book collections when visiting friends or staying at an Airbnb. It tells me a lot about the person and I usually end up adding a book or two to my list of books to read!
Nothing makes me happier than seeing my AML post allo patient independently shopping at Target and looking great! Left me with a big smile before heading to San Diego for

Unfortunately, many institutions underestimate the importance of seamless interaction between staff and technology. Its effect on job satisfaction and the ability to deliver optimal patient care should not be overlooked as a luxury.
Dear

. Your thoughts on someone repleting Vit D at 50k weekly for a patient with cancer with 25-OH of 17 and 1,25-OH of >200, now with hypercalcemia?
I can't help but wonder if ppl's opinion on fact checking would change when deepfake technology becomes common and as easy to use as writing a tweet. How would/should one react if incriminating or career-destroying content is easily created and spread? And what can we do to help?

This week in clinic I met a wonderful man from Haiti. He lost 17 members of his family in the 90s during the war. The physical and mental scars are still there. He was soft spoken and his kindness would for a moment make you forget about his visible tremors and scars. Since

There's always more to see and learn!

I was thinking of building customGPTs to do that for new papers across multiple journals with summarization function. Would be cool to have that for conference abstracts too!

I appreciate everyone trying to spread the word/share their knowledge and recs, no matter how limited. However, it got to the point where noise is everywhere. I was happy to see some commenting on their lack of expertise though.

Meqdadi is a GI fellow so his EP knowledge might not be as advanced as yours haha. Wondering if he's looking into models/help with more advanced pathology (other than Afib Vtach). Maybe also to ensure accuracy... I'll let you two discuss!

I think it should become standard practice to record all meetings and automatically upload to the cloud! We are working on doing this for all our fellowship lectures!

Read parts. Could be utility in studying this further. Computational models are great to hypothesize (but not this far). Assuming all is 100% accurate in this paper, we still can't jump to conclusions without confirming this (other studies, animal models)
