Here's my submission for this month's Agora Anin-challenge. I made this in my spare time over 3-4 weeks. All of the 2D effects (expect for the explosion) were animated using simple Maya geo. I had an absolute blast making this- Enjoy!

This started as just a silly anim test, heavily inspired by Genndy Tartakovsky's Primal. I had so much fun that I ended up creating a fully-fleshed performance shot. Please enjoy! 🦍

Thanks! Everything was done inside maya. For the black & white frames, I hid the env, applied a white surface shader to a duplicate car and keyed the visibility. The black background is just an image plane.

I feel the same way haha. Yeah it's all stepped keys, not splined. However for slow actions, it's usually better to spline the anim early and then bake on 2s later. I use a screen spacer tool or make the camera anim also stepped to prevent staggering.
