@ErnstRoets @SA_Dragonslayer I have no issue with it whatsoever, I think it’s a very clever way of getting empowered and way more compelling than shareholders being one or two fatcats. Surely you can see the benefits of distributing shares to ordinary black citizens?

Early start to my day, two guys hopped over our wall, tried unsuccessfully to get into our garage, broke a burglar bar and window before triggering our alarm, police very professional and here in minutes. Mindful that few SA’ns can afford alarms and burglar bars.

Looking at the news, rarely do and first three stories about crimes against women, the Krugersdorp rapes, two teen girls hacked to death in KZN and a woman’s body found in Nyanga. A broken society, as a mother of two girls and a citizen of SA, I feel sad and sickened 💔

@helenzille Hard to deny UCT is a mess but I think it’s lazy to call it ‘wokeness’, it’s an over-traded word that actually means socially & politically aware which we all ought to be. Some of ppl who laid the complaint were black, this has a lot more complexity to it.

@F62Forbes @nombonisogasa I agree that we are stuck as a country but I do believe that this has a lot to do with white ppl refusing to acknowledge the long-term damage caused by colonialism & Apartheid, we have to acknowledge our privilege and find a way of correcting structural inequity

We have to start changing the way we think, we have masses of unemployed ppl, it has to be possible to build things from the bottom up, not via corrupt tenders but the communities themselves to galvanize and build. Govt as an enabler should train and supplement incomes

I know that personal taxes are not the only taxes but this is terrifying & every high-income earner that emigrates leaves a hole "With not much more than 350,000 individuals accounting for approximately 42% of overall personal income taxes, SA’s tax system rests on a pinhead."
