@terrychristian The tangible benefits include; not being tied to the CET, resumption of indie seat at WTO, a full restoration of immigration policymaking, the right to implement funding more freely, democratic accountability for decision makers....it’s a pretty lengthy list one can construct.

@EssexPR @ProfKarolSikora Here’s what I do know. My wife (a consultant oncologist) is busier now then she was in the pandemic. The debate about the whys and wherefores is fine. But unless we look at how to address this challenge now people will needlessly die. That’s the blunt truth :(

My wife’s oncology team is missing 4 doctors tonight because of positive PCR tests. That’s a lot of people not getting chemotherapy tomorrow that need it as a result. I’m not sure what being back means. Whatever it does, I pray it’s not a continuation of this.

This is the biggest problem and one of the main reasons for restrictions. There's 2 consultant oncologists in my wife's speciality here. If they fall over, nobody between Neath and Aberystwyth gets their treatment. That's the reality of life outside most cities for doctors.

This is another common take that has my oncologist wife shaking her head. If anyone's concern is cancer referrals then get jabbed....as the knock-on impact of restrictions + infections will see delays increase far, far more. Abundance of caution right approach now.

@GrantTucker My wife is the only “permanent” oncologist in her speciality across her region. When she goes on holiday, everything pretty much just stops! I didn’t agree with @ProfKarolSikora on pandemic, but he’s right about impact on certain services and extreme pressures we face.
