has compiled a list of displaced Gazans who are looking for funding. If you can please help N out by reposting and sharing the GFM posts to your following, that would be highly appreciated. Let's all use our platforms for good iA
This is a childrenโs book that was written because the author was trying to explain whatโs going on in Israel to his five-year-old daughter and he couldnโt find a resource with which to do it so he wrote one himself. Under the Rockets' Glow: Shira's Journey to Courage by Roman
Do us a favor and donโt get married then lol. Both women serve different relationships and roles in your life. If you canโt differentiate between the two 1) gross and 2) grow up.
This is the type of stuff that will weigh heavy on their scales. May Allah accept their efforts and grant them ease in this life and the hereafter ameen.
how does a girl go from wanting to marry you for 2 years and almost doing it to saying she lost feelings cuz u made her mad? Like what kinda bs is that
Proposed podcast topics for Muslim men that donโt include discussing women:
- How much they love being husbands/fathers
- Interpersonal communication
- Astronomy and Islam
- Metaphysics and Islam
- Breaking generational patterns
- Ethical scenarios from Islamic perspective
Pay the imams and shuyookh decent salaries!!! Stop having fundraisers for extravagant architecture and make the masjid more functional for youth programs. Train imams for counseling. Have a fund to help aid the poor in out localities. And most importantly, STOP COVERING UP ABUSE.
Is it just me or am I disgustingly exhausted this Ramadan. The hunger isn't as bad but I want to knock out at any given moment. And I would love to say it's bc I'm pious and staying up all night, but I'm not lol.
As a divorced person, no, divorce shouldnโt be normalized bc upholding family values are important for a stable society. Treating divorced people as human beings and not outcasts should be normalized though.
From my week in Malaysia I've noticed that women are treated as equals here and the overall vibe I've gotten is security. Not ONE man has catcalled, looked at me weird, or has touched me inappropriately. I can not say the same for my time in Pakistan or Saudi.
The term โtraditional masculinityโ should only refer to the Prophet ๏ทบ โs embodiment of masculinity and how men of today should try to mimic that. He ๏ทบ was vulnerable, understanding, empathetic, caring, cried, sought advice, and many other amazing qualities โฆ
@Maktuub333
Anecdotally, khutbahs addressing domestic violence are needed but its those who do not attend that are perpetrators of abuse the most.
Domestic violence exists but the reality is we need solid facts not just hearsay.
When he said heโd rather work two jobs than let me work somewhere I wouldnโt be happy at. He also proved it when I couldnโt find a job last year.
I have decided that instead of engaging in silly misogynistic debates on here, I will read a page of Quran instead to prevent me from having a brain aneurysm iA.
When I say I want hijabi representation in the media, this is what I mean... not someone posing on Sports Illustrated or in a tv show exposing their repressed sexual desires
@NafisaBakkar
The beauty of Islam is that thereโs so many other acts of worship that are maybe more accessible or easier to perform for different people and can contribute to their piety that we can use to get closer to Him even if one aspect hasnโt clicked yet for us.
Was talking to my cousin in law about this and she said she heard a lecture by a scholar (canโt remember who) about how the misogyny in Muslim (south Asian) communities stems from colonialism bc when men were stripped of their rights by the YTs, they went on to control womenโฆ
Did I tell y'all about the 36 yo handsome, 6'3", Stanford researcher who told his parents about me and then said, "sorry, they want me to marry someone who's 25 or younger"...
The lucky girl phenomenon is basically saying Alhamdulillah for everything. โAlso call to mind when your Lord proclaimed: โIf you give thanks, I will certainly grant you more..โ (14:7 Quran)
@mrymler
Sorry to hear that. I'm not denying patriarchal rule, just sharing my observations from my stay here. It's unfortunate that men take it upon themselves to interpret Islam and then act accordingly to their skewed and misogynistic ideology.
Yes. You bring an imam out for a few hours, they should be paid for their time there. Yโall pay $15k minimum for decor but canโt pay the imam a couple hundreds lol
@ATTQureshi
That's not what she said. She said people who accuse her of wearing it only for fashion are dim bc if God wasn't in the picture she wouldn't
I am grateful for men who use their privilege to validate a woman's experience but I also hate that society will believe a man and not a woman in the first place.
@_trussmidaddi_
Allah will grant you someone who will be the best husband for you and be a better father for your kids ameen. Praying for a life of iman, love, happiness, and afiya for you and your child. Ameen ๐ค
When I was in iddah I was depressed bc of many things but one of them was that my life was on hold. Someone close to me at the time told me to look at that time period as an entire hallway to different doors opening in my life and that it was alhamdulillah.
Not praying is a violation of your own soul but crimes against others are not only a violation of your own soul but also the souls of others so ๐ค๐ค๐ค
I cba with these "religious" folk justifying these kinds of actions in the name of religion. Tobah.
Typical Fiqh of Marriage seminar itinerary:
1. Rights of men 2hrs
โ 1a. Misogynist jokes thrown in there 30 minutes
2. Oh wait, women have rights too 10 minutes
3. โDonโt hit your wife!โ thrown in there
4. Conclude with, โThe best of you is one who is best with his womenโ.
Why are people that are plagued with internalized misogyny obsessed with the idea that women want to fill menโs shoes lol? We literally donโt tyvm. We just want to be able to make our own decisions~
@ATTQureshi
It doesn't matter what her motivations are to wear it when her purpose is to wear it for God. Like she said, it keeps it consistent for her.
Or... indicative of a progressive, educated, and stable society where women arenโt seen solely as incubators and can actually contribute to the world in various ways.
Met up with a friend who works in HR and she mentioned how one of their employees went to go get a BBL in Mexico and died on the table and needed to be resuscitated only to come back BLIND! Free women from getting BBLs ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฉ
Guys who say they are looking for someone family oriented stress me out bc their definition of family oriented means someone whoโll bend over backwards for their family while they do nothing for mine.
Working =/= masculine and not working =/= feminine. I would like all of you to reflect and understand gender roles from the Prophet ๏ทบ, his wives, and his companions. Take your character and demeanor in dealing with your spouse and how you present yourself in society from them.
@hamosa_a
Thatโs not what Iโm saying. I fully stand behind divorce being the best option when youโre in a toxic/abusive/incompatible marriage. However, normalizing implies that itโs ok to leave on simpler issues. Thatโs what equates it to temporary relationships.
!!!! I know for a fact that my ex husband didnโt let me work back then bc I would potentially make more than him and look at me now alhamdulillah ๐
I really believe that reciting this duaa throughout my adolescent years has made me more secure in myself and given me confidence as I am alhamdulillah
Imagine how secure our children will be, if every time they look in the mirror, they words read the du'a read by the Prophet (peace on him),
"Oh Allah you have made my external features beautiful, so make my internal character beautiful as well!"
Lol, yโall have been through my pick me, rishtas, college, marriage
#1
, university, divorce, feminist, working, grad school, courting round 2, marriage
#2
, and now bo$$ B phases ๐
I think my favorite part of Twitter is when you follow someone for so long that you witness various stages of their life sometimes without even ever meeting them
Men stay in their lane here and speak to you with dignity and respect as opposed to talking down to you or inappropriately. Women are independent and free to do whatever they choose to do or not do. (from what I have observed, obvs there are abusers in every locality)
If youโre a teenager and started following someone who acted like he knew what he was talking about, youโd believe them!!! People didnโt start following him yesterday for them to research his credentials. They were majority teens who used his account as an anchor to their faith.
Something about showcasing your underaged children on social media for profit makes me uncomfortable. Doubt they consented to their lives being exploited in any capacity to such a wide audience like that.
The only thing I miss about my ex husband was that heโd fill up my gas tank after using my car to go to the masjid for fajr. A Manโข
He also didnโt allow me to leave my room/the house without his permission so thereโs that too.
This is why I recommend therapy to everyone!!! You may think you're all fine and dandy but then your issues will eventually come out and have potential to harm your kids and/or the people around you.
I'm finally where I want to be career wise alhamdulillah. I drop in on a session via telehealth once or twice a month per client, sit for one hour, give feedback, adjust the learning programming, write my notes, and dip.
I am sick and tired of Isha being past 11pm. The struggle to get up for fajr is real bc sometimes I donโt even hear my alarm bc Iโm so knocked out ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ. Does anyone have any tips?
