My biggest bitter tip re: comics: Don’t waste time pitching to publishers. I spent years on this for zilch & ended up with 100s of pages of sketches & storyboards for unpublished & now outofdate work. Just draw the pages on Patreon or Insta and finish the story. Publishers suck

Did dogs have a "singularity event" with humans, like the dogs were all "These humans are really helping out with the elk-hunting" and some smart dogs were warning the others "Mark my words, they are gonna introduce elk-hunting tactics we can't even begin to comprehend"

Sadly, these kind of Sambo images were fairly frequent in Japan at the time (Viz also redrew a similar stereotypical doll in a Maison Ikkoku panel). And even in the '90s, as described in Fred Schodt's Dreamland Japan, Black Japanese people were pushing back against them. 2/x

Jojo is popular in English, now Devilman is popular... I'm as happy as an old Marvel nerd who doesn't have to explain who the Inhumans are anymore
