Congratulations to Worthington. On its sixth try, voters approved ALL THREE bond questions. The first was approved 1,780 to 1,644; the second approved 1,719 to 1,700; and the third was approved 1,760 to 1,669!
Congratulations to Byron Public Schools. Voters approved a $23 million bond request by a vote of 1,600 to 907. A second $21.5 million request for athletic facilities was approved 1,337 to 1,167.
MN sped teachers spend up to 50% of their time doing more paperwork than the fed government requires. Districts and sped teachers want the best services for students. They want to spend time with students, NOT doing repetitive, unnecessary paperwork.
The first result is in: Congratulations to Albany schools. Voters approved a $16.9M request for an Early Learning Center and upgrades to buildings. The vote was 1,272 to 881.
Congratulations to St. Louis Park schools. Voters approved a $3.5M capital project levy by a vote of 7,082 to 2,647. A second $135M building improvement and safety question passed 6,896 to 2,891.
Every school district in Minnesota has a special education funding gap. Legislators, with a $9.25 billion surplus it is time to close the gap.

Congratulations to Becker Public Schools. Voters approved both bond referenda. Q.1 ($37.5 million request) won 1,403-763. Q.2 ($6.8 million) won 1,199 to 966.

Congratulations to Grygla-Gatzke Public Schools. Voters approved all three referenda requests. The operating levy renewal won 254-57. A $1.9 million request to replace boilers won 221-91. And an operating levy increase also passed 183-129.
“We're not talking about taking away any of the services,” New Ulm Supt. Jeff Bertrang told the senators. “We're trying to take away the paperwork so teachers who are licensed and qualified can teach and give the kids the services they're supposed to.”

Litchfield passed its operating levy 1,583 to 1,064; passed a $32 million bond 1,399 to 1,247, but a second bond request for a pool and facilities went down 1,110 to 1,526.
Congratulations to Holdingford Public Schools. The district passed an 11.1 million bond for additions, safety, security and maintenance by a vote of 1,419 to 1,031 AND passed a $200 per pupil operating levy 1,235 to 1,216.

Full funding for the special education funding gap will only take 9% of the state budget surplus to pay the debt owed to our schools and prevent cuts from our school districts.
For years, MSBA’s policy on unpaid lunches has required that students will not be demeaned or stigmatized because of unpaid balances. MSBA is drafting clarifying guidance, including a clause that no lunches will be taken away from students.
Congratulations to Hills-Beaver Creek Public Schools. Voters approved the school's operating levy renewal and a second question to increase the levy by the rate of inflation.
Congratulations to Blooming Prairie Schools! Voters approved both referenda questions. A $27.9 million bond was approved 606 to 383. A second $6.4 million bond for a gym was approved 571 to 391.
MSBA asks Attorney General Ellison to explore a lawsuit against the federal government to fulfill its obligation to pay up to 40% of special education costs.
