One year ago today I was admitted to the ICU in Columbus. It was only by the grace of God I didn’t die in my house in DC. My family showed up, my friends showed up, and my community came through. Made some new friends and got rid of some fake ones. Blessed to still be here.

My Lupus diagnosis punched me real good in December. Couple that with a pulmonary embolism and a pericardial effusion you can definitely say I took some hits. Next week I’m hitting back. 10 weeks of physical therapy 3 to 4 days a week. LFG!!!!

Achievement Unlocked: It’s been 18 days since I was discharged from the hospital and the pericardial effusion has resolved itself without the need for surgery! More importantly my resting heart rate has gone from 110bpm to 79bpm! Get some!

I completed my 60 day no sugar challenge down 35lbs. Doctor said my inflammation markers look better than expected for someone with Systemic Lupus. Continuing to stay away from processed sugar as much as I can. More dietary changes in the way.
