This kind of technique is my comfort style of painting because my approach leans more into thinking 'sculpturally' So rather than being very decisive in the sketch, I prefer to make most of my choices in the painting, which means there's alot of push/pull in form definition

I recorded a process to show how I paint in this style, referencing the headset beside my desk. I have a rough sketch first then apply local colors, thinking about what is darker or lighter even just in the base colour. It can help create a sense of depth already.

McQueen's story can be compared to an ouroboros. Originally "Jennie" the forger, she desired agency in her expression as an artist and attempted to escape her mentor, only to accidentally(?) kill them and ironically perpetuate the cycle of deception as the hated "McQueen".

- Adjust your eyedropper tool I use Photoshop and the eyedropper tool to quickly pick my in-between colours for midtones. Toggling the sample size to be larger/smaller can help you mix or pull colours quickly from what you place down

Enfer(if the moths aren't yelling enough) has themes rooted in rebirth. In the literal sense yes she bursts out of a magical coccoon after her emotional journey but I feel it's also about the transformation of grief.

Her ECB art and text is one of my favourites, it presents Lisa's perspective in a reverse of expectations of her character- she's not as indifferent or cruel as percieved. she clearly has a desire to connect and inspire, yet suffers an inability to do so(read serving terms)

the fact that interrogations are gated and have libram-related rewards, players have to make a conscious choice on who they unlock. I would've preferred to play them in chronological order that follows narrative progression, so i wish this was something that can be informed

PROS - It feels very good for "intuitive" painting where I rely on my sense of structure and value without the pressure of conforming to lineart - It can give quick but effective results if done properly, and produce a very gestural feeling

naturally PTN's cohesion of story and gameplay is inherently better just because of the genre of game, and it's a quality of most narrative-driven gacha games that really appeals to me lately riot will struggle to compete in this area despite its efforts in alternative media
