When I say alicent is a victim it largely centers around the patriarchy of that world. While she does do villaneous things it’s often the actions of others that put her in these situations
But his father is a Targaryen, same as Aemond and same as Jon snow making them even more Targaryen than Jace and Luke who are Velaryons had Aegon been declared heir Jace would be lord of driftmark his birth right per his father Laenor. The paternal heritage matters here
Aemond’s death is so relevant that years after the war, instead of going for his bones, they only decided to go down for the sword he had stuck in his face.
@michaelscottfr
Let me start by saying picking sides is silly when both are fairly awful…
With that being said, Aemond and Daerons death are far more relevant
I wish y'all could see how beautiful and feminist it is to center a story around the love between two women, and the ways it's undermined by the patriarchal society they live in. Her death will still be a result of her gender and position as claimant for the throne.
To the kingdom, bastards are not well seen, if they were she would have recognized them as bastards, but she didnt bc she could lose support of lords to her claim, since if her bastards can be heirs other bastards would also want to be heirs and it could be bad for many lords
I hate when they say that there are kings named in honor of Daeron the forgotten when Daenaera named her son in honor of her father and Aegon the unworthy named his son in honor of the man who was king and conquered Dorne, not in the idiot who died in a tent
So Alicent wanted to clean and check the vitals of Joffrey, Luke and Jace?
how kind that woman is and I thought she just wanted to review their features to declare them bastards
my mistake
@thedragonLML
Rhaenyra’s children are legitimate, they belong to the Velaryon house. The rumors have no weight in the inheritance of any of the children because they were born into a marriage and were claimed by their father and paternal family.
In addition to the king, of course.
@Ihat3h3r
We don't really know how Aegon iii truely felt about Daenaera sadly or her him, all we really know is that he came to dislike her touch at some point (most likely after the births of their kids)
@issgiulia
That has nothing to do with Rhaenyra and the abusive way in which she treat her and her children.
The abuses that a person has suffered do not excuse him from committing these same acts towards other people.
I hope this helps!
I know it's hard for some of you to fathom the idea of someone hating and loving you at the same but it's not as black and white as you guys would want it to be. alicent's character is complex it's never that simple with her
That’s not true. Rhaenyra distanced herself from the whole world, not just from Alicent.
In fact, there is a scene where she blames Viserys for his marriage to Alicent by telling him, that it was by advantage that he would have married Laena Velaryon.
both of them are awful but it’s also the way that rhaenerya is like the definition of white feminism and no one acknowledges it at all. she never once hated her father for marrying her 15 year old best friend and literally only took it out on her—
Funny how Rhaenyra was the one who had the most support during the war and even more funny that it was Jace who got the powerful allies for his mother.
It’s 2024 btw
Great take that sums up all the reasons why I was supporting the greens from the start And a great reminder how almost all those things haven't been mentioned since ep 7 ....
@thedragonLML
Rumors and assumptions are not the same as concise evidence about something. Rhaenyra has never been accused in court with evidence that her children are illegitimate, which is why all of them are and will always be Velaryon.
@kobitheprophet
I like her book counter-part I think it’s kinda beautiful that she’s gets a dragon after all that she went through and she’s also the last dragon rider what makes it better
So funny how visenya is just an eviler Alicent. She’s a usurper who put her rapist son on the throne, and is also a mass murderer, but for some reason she gets the hero treatment by these drones.
aegon: 5th ruler of targaryen dynasty in seven kingdoms and acknowledged by everyone
rhaenyra: mother of some kings ruled after her brother’s reign and give some seeds to the people born some 170 years after her death
🤣🤣😂😂😂
team blacks obsession with “ancestor😜 descendants 🤪😝” tweets should be studied lol no one cares, rhaenyras descendants doesn’t even recognize her as a queen in targaryen dynasty
@Pen39636988
He was flying low because his goal was not to “kill the pirates” but to find Viserys and get him out of there alive.
I swear it’s not that hard to understand.
