@JackiCKing I wanted a Christian counseling degree. I ended up with an MDiv and a PhD, and I felt supported by faculty and respected by my peers no matter whether I was in a preaching, theology, or counseling class, masters or doctoral.

I recently found a small (not serious) melanoma on my leg & my doctor decided to inform me that he had sufficiently removed it & my tests were clear by sending me an in-app message with the two simple words “all out”. In case anyone wanted to know what NOLA healthcare is like!!

Getting my PhD is so interesting because, as in every other stage of my academic career, I have to leave events early to go study. But now I’m 27, I somehow feel even lamer, and it’s a three year old’s birthday party that I’m having to leave early.
