How much does my family love Roy Williams? We put his picture on the cookies at my Bar Mitzvah in September of 2003, before he ever coached a single game at UNC. Today, it’s “Mazel Tov, Roy.” You will be sorely missed.

Says a lot about the depth of this UVa team that Clark/Diakite were the heroes of THE PLAY, Kyle Guy handled THE FREE THROWS, and DeAndre Hunter was the hero of THE TITLE... and Jerome might’ve been UVa’s best player in the tournament.

Wondering how @ElonMBasketball entered CAA play with a 3-10 record & then opened CAA play with a dominant 17-point win? Per KenPom, Elon played the nation’s 13th toughest non-conf schedule this season. Hofstra is the only other CAA team with a top-100 non-conference SoS (28).

Well this is fun: Tonight in Durham, UNCW’s Greg Jones is starting for the Bulls and Elon’s Cam Devanney is starting for the Nashville Sounds. They were their respective teams’ starting shortstops in 2019 when they met in the CAA Championship game, a 6-5 UNCW victory.

Have to think a key selling point on Elon for Billy Taylor was that the Phoenix was only four degrees of separation from a National Championship this year. Elon beat JMU, who beat George Mason, who beat Dayton, who beat Kansas. The team is obviously ready to win right now.

Last year's Elon transfers: Darius Burford leads ISU in ppg. Hunter Woods leads PSU in rpg. Scoring 10ppg, too. Michael Graham leads LMU in FG%, playing 15 mpg. Hunter McIntosh has not played this season, but reportedly getting closer to making his debut for Nevada (knee).

Elon wins, 61-54. Never trailed after the 13:45 mark of the first half, when W&M led 12-10. Michael Graham with a career-high 20 points and game-high 12 rebounds. Torrence Watson & Hunter McIntosh added 14 and 13 respectively. Hunter Woods added six assists vs. one turnover.
