Adam Johnson has died after suffering a serious medical emergency during a game in England on Saturday.
Johnson played two seasons at Minnesota Duluth and four years for Hibbing/Chisholm.
He was just 29 years old.

The NCAA is removing the voluntary coach designation in Division I hockey and increasing the coaching staff limit by one.
Hockey teams will be allowed four paid coaches on staff.
Rule goes into effect July 1.
Proposal to increase limit to five coaches was rejected.
The Division I Council met Wednesday at the NCAA Convention to modernize rules for coaching limits and take action on transfer waivers and initial eligibility requirements.

Former Lake Superior State captain Pete Stauber, who got away with illegally pushing the net off to stop play late in the 1988 NCAA championship game against St. Lawrence, voted in 2019 and 2021 against bills that would require background checks for all firearm purchases.
As parents of school aged children, Jodi and I were horrified with the shooting yesterday in Texas. Every child should be safe in their homes and schools. This was pure evil. The families of these innocent victims are in our prayers.

Jennifer Kuhlman, mother of former Bulldogs captain Karson Kuhlman, was involved in a serious car accident this month while working with U.S. Air Force in the UK.
Upon hearing of her accident, UMD hockey parents rallied to offer their support.

Looks like some members of the U.S. Olympic men’s hockey team stayed in Beijing for the closing ceremonies, and I say good for them.
The Olympics is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for many, and kudos to those who are able to soak up the experience to the fullest.
Outgoing Bulldogs senior center Peter Krieger is signing in Europe with Västerviks IK in Sweden. The club currently plays in the Tier II league HockeyAllsvenkan.
