Look at Kovalica detached from the field top of the straight, near enough to last at the 200m. One of the runs of the day across the country. I have to believe they go to 2000m & the Cox Plate. I just don’t understand how you’d come back to 1500m at Rosehill against 20 horses.

Still can’t get over the run of Pride Of Jenni. She was coming back on the line as I don’t think she saw Espiona sneak up underneath her. She would’ve nailed Espiona if she had more time. She’s arguably run of the day anywhere in the country. So much heart. Mares rarely do that.

It was a spectacle. But what do we make of that Queen Elizabeth? I'm fairly certain none of them wanted to be the one to cart up, and in doing so they've sealed their fates and accepted running in another race. Overall time 2.02. That's not exactly setting 2000m records.

Only a small % of punters win consistently. Even less to a degree that would be expensive to a bookmaker to continue to accept their bets. The biggest issue is the restriction of people who win miserly amounts or often don’t even win - they just once upon a time found value.

TAB has Southport Tycoon $21 - what on earth is that about? Some of these horses who haven't raced in the last fortnight are being forgotten about, I think. Granted no evidence he handles a heavy track, but his Veight & Riff Rocket form reference is strong for a horse with 49kg.

I have to think if Buenos Noches turns up in the Sir Rupert Clarke on Saturday he starts favourite. He has given the Champ a real fright at WFA, and he’s always struck me as a horse who at least has scope for 1400m. At most is even better. Stable airborne.

Has Private Eye really eased post-draw? Sat 3 deep first up & storms to victory. Race looks on-speed or 3WWC suited & he’ll probably lob 3WWC without giving them too much start. Buenos Noches can find the running line too. Both drawn well in my humble opinion.

I like Jacquinot out in barrier 11. As I've said before, there's nothing better at Flemington over the 1400/1600m than being in the 3 wide with cover running line. Low barriers are a death trap for that T&D. They race very crowded in big fields & it's a battle for momentum.

Interesting runner on Sat: 3yo colt Cannonball who kicks off his autumn for new trainers @SnowdenRacing1 in the Maurice McCarten. Ended the spring with a 3rd to Giga & Buenos & was tightened for room L200m. Trialled well. Ready to explode. Took $8 Tab & $6.5 SB is fine too.

Flemington 1400m is the biggest trap of all. I hate low draws and love wide draws. If you can get in the 3 wide running line with cover you are laughing. Kissonallfourcheeks for me. Smaller bet Yearning at odds.

Look at the little horse in the yellow tracking Duais and taking ground off Think It Over in the last 100m of the 2022 Australian Cup. Injury, time and age have since had their way. But Ho Ho Khan lobs in a Metropolitan with 52.5kg and is $71/$12 😳

Lost And Running has been one of mine for a long time, but he's poison odds this Saturday. He's priced as though he won the the Everest. Private Eye is excellent value $5.5. He and Mazu are top line G1 sprinters both suited up to 1300m as much as LaR will be. Zero value in LaR.

The ATC needs to withdraw their Rosehill sale proposal immediately to avoid any further embarrassment. They operate at the mercy of the Crown everywhere bar Rosehill & they want to sell the Golden Goose. The govt doesn’t care about racing. They’ll sooner abandon it.

I haven’t had a single bet with Colossalbet let alone used a promo. Yet apparently my use of promos is outside their guidelines. Don’t think I’ve ever seen worse customer comms & marketing than that you experience with the corporate bookies. Their systems & execution are terrible

Very sad to read the news that the champ Lonhro has passed. Looked & walked like a panther! Hard to top his C'field Guineas win for me as I was on when the stable thought he was No.2 seed to Viscount. But you have to say this Aus Cup win was his crowning moment. Go Lonhro Go! 🙏

I don't think it's a huge stretch to say Benedetta should've won. Didn't get out til the 150m or something like that. Dictated too for most of the race. Flew when she got out after having zero momentum.

Overpass looks best placed horse all weekend. $2.8 looks fair too. I find it hard to see him beaten. Shadow Devil a nice horse in the making. But how isn't Overpass $2 off defeating Forbidden Love & Anamoe first up, & 2nd to Lost And Running last start? Level weights here. Wow.

The greatest compliment I can give that ride by Mark Zahra is it was a carbon copy of a @boss_glen Cup ride on Makybe Diva. I was confident the race was over at the bend, it was that good.

If I owned Icebath I'd be furious at her scratching today. She needs a black type win & that was at her mercy. If she comes out & wins the George Main then they're geniuses. But I can't see it. Could've won today & secured her value, then target the Epsom as her G1 chance.

This Turnbull is a let down. Gold Trip surely sacked after last start having every conceivable. Even with her weight & post-race issue last start, Duais has two laps of Flemington on them. She will explode third up, 2000m, Flemington. Will start clear fave.

Without A Fight for me in the Cup. Found it a tough race this year. The class up top looks to have it between them. Vauban might blow them away but a winner of a fast Caulfield Cup is hard to beat in the Melbourne Cup any year! Good luck, all.

A WFA star winning a big G1 handicap with an historically significant weight will always be one of the key measures of champion status in Australia. It's what makes our racing unique. Credit to them for setting the mare this challenge. Who turns up determines the size of it.

I keep looking over it but I can't for the life of me understand how Manzoice has beaten Sharp n Smart. Beat him comfortably despite sitting 3 deep no cover in the Spring Champion. Just as suited up to 2500m. Was it just the fast tempo & being a few lengths closer to it?
