Hello!
We will open for novella-length Fiction and Nonfiction in April and we're looking for readers. We believe in recruiting from outside our group to diversify our taste and scope. We do not want to get staid! Groupthink is the enemy of creativity.
Throwing this out there so it’s on the record: If you’re a small press or an author on a book tour and want do a reading in Baltimore but are unsure or the area/venues, we’d be happy to help you.
Also, YOU SHOULD DO A READING IN BALTIMORE.
We decided we wanted to do a print journal. It might be a one time thing. It might be yearly. It might be sporadic.
We don’t know.
What we do know is we’re open for subs right now! More info in the thread.
Submissions opening next week!
We’re helping with a publishing practicum for local university who offers an MFA in creative writing and publishing arts that for legal reasons we can’t mention. We’ll be open for manuscripts (10–20k words for prose; 35ish pages for poetry).
The novella is the mini horse of the literary world. Look at this mini horse.
And then check out the guidelines for our novella-length-thing submission call:
Now open!

@H_Bustani
), Sara Lippmann (

The story determines the length of a book; not the other way around. A lot of publishers/agents don’t see it this way…but a lot do, too. The answer to most publishing woes is always the same: Just keep looking for the folks who will champion your work.
We’re open for pitches, y’all. Aren’t we always open for pitches? Well, yes, but right now we’re especially open for pitches with more dedicated readers and an aim to have quicker response times. Check the link for details!
Hey, hey, how about a cover reveal?
We’re pleased to present JERKS by

On a serious note: Our sincere gratitude to anyone who’s ever considered blurbing one of our books! Blurbs often get a bad wrap. They’re seen as marketing tools. Because they are. But they’re also evidence of community and selflessness in the lit world. And that can’t be all bad!
