Niece and nephew collect birthday/Eid money and pay Zakat on it 😀 It is a 'pillar' of Islam to annually pay 2.5% of our wealth as charity. I sent them this pic - people who work on the streets as trash pickers eating a wholesome meal supported by their Zakat contributions ❤

Many of you ask me if I am fuming 24/7 because of what is happening in India. Yes, I am mad. But more than that, I am just sad. Little boys and young teenage boys were sodomised/raped but there is no outrage. Radical Hindus are saying that these boys deserved it. #india

It is #EidAlAdha today 😍🥰 I have been in the kitchen since 4am. Sheer khorma, done. Qeema, done. Aaloo, done. Making batter for aaloo pakode and then frying pooris. Packing it off to friends, relatives, and neighbours.

@jennaalansari In Dubai, hand sanitisers are EVERYWHERE - in public spaces, elevators, ATMs etc. At Heathrow, not once did anyone ask abt Covid test, or take our temperature. A box of 50 disposable masks cost upto £2 in Dxb and EACH such mask I tried buying in a London pharmacy was for £1-2.

For example, when someone comes over for a meal, I always pack them food to take home, esp if they liked a particular dish, then I pack them extra of it. > My mother relayed this question to my father, who started school hunting. And that's how we got into formal education. We started going for tuitions to the same woman, now known to us as 'Teacher Aunty'. Today, she has passed away. We continue to carry her guidance everyday 🙏
