2019 brought some bad idiosyncratic health shocks (a car hit me while biking+I fell bouldering and had to get knee surgery to fix an unhappy triad). 2020 brought a bad macro health shock. I hope these giant pacific mantas on Jan 1st are a good sign of what 2021 lays ahead.

Dicen que no tienen dinero, pero ya después de un rato dicen que siempre si tienen el 80% de lo que les pedí. Estoy cansado. Es la hora de la siesta de mi hijo, así que acepto y me voy. Al final, un final "feliz". Sobre todo, muy agradecido por toda la gente que me ayudo.

Llega la policía y tratan de justificar la agresión. Aquí la conductora (que es la madre del que me golpeo) justificando el golpe ante el policía. La policía les explica que yo los puedo demandar y tienen las de perder. Que mejor pidan disculpas y me paguen mis anteojos.

What is going on at the US-MEX border with the Haitian migrants is horrifying. No human should be treated like that. Full stop. But is hard not to think of the historical debt much of the "West" (from France to the UK to the US) and Latam owes Haiti. Short 🧵

Who in their right mind decided @Stata needed a regular seed and a seed to break ties when sorting? How is this useful? How many errors has this caused? Why is it still this way? (I know the ", stable" trick, but I spent an hr hunting down an unstable sort within a merge)

Creo que a los itamitas se les olvido La Navaja de Ockham (). En vez de andar buscando chivos expiatorios, la explicación correcta (y mas sencilla) es que invitaron por error al grupo de WhatsApp (en el que hubo copia durante el examen) a un profesor.
