This is a residential school. I was "policied" here for 1,800 days. I returned here years later, built my home in one of the cleared fields (top, center). Today, I counted 21 planted flags, potential children remains GPR "anomaly" sites outside our sacred grounds.

I rare ever had a vehicle after we left the cities forever. When we moved deep into the forest, I ran to the nearest store 30 kms away. I "jogged" daily for over two decades. I walked the forests looking for wild foods. A healing time, lick wounds, filling in a clean slate.

My farewell, and tribute to a Dene warrior, soldier, and all-around fix-it guy. He was killed a few days ago hit by a van while walking. His broken body laid where he fell for 10 hours, waiting for a coroner to arrive.

@TheAgentNDN Quebec comes from the Algonquin word, kebec, signifying the narrowing of the river in the area around the City of Québec. Ottawa comes from the Algonquin term adawe, "to trade." This was the name given to the people who controlled the trade of the river.

A vey sad day for us. One of our rez members got hit and killed while walking the highway. Traffic was stopped on both directions, and motorists are waiting for over 5 hours now, and its snowing, bleak, slippery. The coroner is 4 hrs south.

He walked over 100 miles to sign up to fight for a Canada that treated him as less than equal. One of many brave Métis who served. England, Africa, Italy, and back to Saskatchewan to walk home. Louis Roy died today. He was 101. Please remember him.

Back in 2015, the then-redneck SaskParty initiated a "let it burn" policy, affecting over 20,000 Indigenous People who had to be evacuated as flames roared across Northern Saskatchewan. No Indigenous People trusts those rednecks who are still there.
