Womens fiction, journalist
No DMs except books & writing. We're NOT A DATING APP. I am not interested. I trade opinions & support of people w/similar interests.
@boundlesshopes
I'm one of those people who can better express myself in writing than in person, trying to talk to people. But if we write & can get people to read it, it's a form of being heard, isn't it?
@JerasIkehorn
Real Christians aren't ruining it, but what I call the show-offs certainly are not helping.
REAL Christians practice kindness, generosity, patience, tolerance, & acceptance. They could help us save the country.
@madrid_mike
Perhaps he thinks it's too late for Abbott but he might still get to DeSantis? Or maybe he likes Beto better than he likes Charlie Crist. Or (I hope, I hope) he thinks Beto has it made, but Crist needs help. Last I heard, I think Beto's numbers were better.
@Sinfulskin2
Don't remember, but as I read about the Cabinet appointments, I realized that literally all appointments were made to destroy their appointed departments, I realized we were in it deep.
@RonFilipkowski
I'm betting on a very small portion.
Like when he first started his campaign & he went on a Navy ship & claimed to have raised $5M for the veterans. They waited for the $ that didn't arrive & he finally had to be shamed into writing the check. He wrote it for $15,000.
@PKramerica
I don't think the party gave him much choice.
The "Me too" movement was at its peak, & he paid dearly (as did his state) for a childish mistake of his wild youth.
& yet Kavanaugh did much worse & didn't pay. Do you think maybe party affiliation had something to do with it?
@RealMJolliffe
One I wrote, really, but have never published. It's called "Mama's Turn," and I still hope to publish it someday.
Now that I'm widowed, I can't handle Willie Nelson's "You Were Always On My Mind." Haven't passed the first line dry-eyed since 2-23-20.
@Madiii03
I did that too, for the same reason. He'll probably try to reunite, but strongly suggest you resist. My ex even tried, after the soft approach, to try a hard ultimatum. I laughed in his face & told him to call her & tell her she could move in now, not wait until a future date.
@AZ_Brittney
yes. I've wondered if he could run again, he's still young. I think the law is that a third CONSECUTIVE term is verboten, not a third term.
Someone will probably tell me to read the law, but save your energy. I don't read laws. I leave reading it to lawyers.
@patriot92serena
RGOP hated him so much because he was born black.
Having a black President just stuck in their craw. That's why they met while he & Michele were basking in their Inaugural & Moscow Mitch told his puppets that their greatest goal was to assure Obama did not have one thing passed.
@BreakthecycleCA
The real me of 2005, dressed up, bejeweled, made up & coifed for a fancy dress ball. The everyday around-the-house me in 2022, uh, no. The handsome gentleman beside me is my dear departed precious husband.
@jodyjsperling
Yes. I have a blind friend who is addicted to them. She stays up nights "reading" them when they come in from the library. When discussing books, she speaks in terms of reading them, so I think the term is genuine.
@HillaryClinton
None of us also should not accept being unable to move or travel within our own country without consistently keeping ALL our human rights.
Human rights should not be states' rights. Human rights should be Federally mandated & protected from reduction & revocation.
@Cocolh44
yes. Raised in the restaurant biz, so even when the service is bad, I know why it's probably bad, & it's not usually servers' fault.
If I go to a restaurant with slow kitchen output, I tip a little more because I know the server will pay for the cook's slowness with fewer tips.
@osullivanauthor
@JayDemick
It is outrageous that he is not incarcerated & WAS GIVEN HIS ASSAULT RIFLE BACK!
There's a judge who needs to be debenched & disbarred.
It's after midnight. I just typed those 2 beautiful words-- The End -- on Irish in the Heart!
Wrote it in the Covid isolation. It received a handful of rejections, so I gave it a beta reader & acted on her comments. It has a new beginning, a new ending, & some newness in between.
@ZachWLambert
Damnright!
If a pastor tells you that, he isn't even a decent Christian.
A decent pastor will encourage you to practice kindness, acceptance, forgiveness, tolerance, patience, generosity, & setting good examples for others to follow.
@ML_Philosophy
Just move on. The more you immerse yourself into the world around you--& especially the people around you-- the more quickly you will get over him or her.
BTW, don't look for another love. Just wait. It will find you if you're enjoying your life with friends, family, & community.
@laurcunn
Answer what you can then switch to, "Ask your blank (father, grandparent, neighbor)."
My husband & I had a method where I answered certain questions & he answered others, depending on our font of knowledge. Me: people, food, etc. Him: Science, building, vehicles, etc.
@leonie2anderson
Because we have to live with close friends & relatives, and there will be blowback or nagging if:
a) we say the wrong thing,
b) break a resolution,
c) fail to meet a goal, or
d) have already heard it all.
We are less judgmental here.
@JRobFromMN
I do not believe in capital punishment at all.
2 reasons:
1. It is too lenient for someone who has done something horrible. Dying is easy. Incarceration for the rest of your life without parole or pardon is worse.
2. There is always a chance of a mistake. We've killed wrongly b4.
@KaylaChowShow
"I care too much." Right up there with "Good Christian" & "Concerned Citizen."
I've learned that when people describe themselves in one of these ways, it's seldom true. If they want to impress me, follow the writer's rule -- show, don't tell.
@AJWinters94
Young man, "adorable" is not a statement of your size, masculinity, or net worth. It transcends all that.
Women use the expression more than men do, & it means -- literally -- that you're a person worthy of adoration. That is one huge compliment! You should learn to bask in it.
@whataimeereads_
No, it isn't too old. You have no idea how young 27 is for a writer. It's something you can usually do way into the years.
A major advantage is that you are writing the whole time you're in a course, so you keep getting better & better at the craft as the time passes.
@l78lancer
@mlauriat
My mom was sent home w/ a dead baby & she died soon after it was born. But that was in the 1940s. No excuse for it now w/ all the knowledge we have.
@LuvOneAnother7
That's horrible! Even for him, that's horrible!
At age 13, I tried to commit suicide because my "mother" was a drunk. It's a tough age without this sort of trauma.
@Jaycparker1
You might be better off than if they had. Families are usually not good at being encouraging about the idea of your being a writer or about your body of work.
@FrankMikeDavis1
Compared to the alternative, I'd rather it be him instead of Larry, Moe, & Curly. & you know exactly who I mean!
Larry at Mar-A-Lago, Moe in Tallahassee, & Curly on his way to Cancun.
@_FlawlessPage
I'm a sucker for giving advice. Here 'tis:
a) Save for retirement.
b) Travel while you can before your health starts to fail. c) Make your peace with estranged family members before you start losing each other.
@smerobin
I used to do that when I drove a small car that was easier to maneuver that way.
It's done because so many parking lot accidents -- possibly most of them -- are caused by people backing out & can't see someone coming.
Newer cars w/ cameras have probably cut that statistic down.
@MissEloof
Never saw that, but a lady I know in our building puts cranberry juice on hers. Knew a lady where I lived previously who put cafe con leche on hers.
BTW, the cranberry juice lady will be 108 next month, so who can tell her it's wrong?
@CHennighan
I forgot who made the announcement, but a major authority on G&C made an announcement a couple decades ago (at least) that beginning a sentence with "And" to show emphasis was acceptable. Sort of like the Oxford comma.
@swousdahl
The freedom of retirement. Earlier in my life, I decided to leave the office world to be a stay-home mom. I supplemented the family income with newspaper & magazine articles, even newsletters & meeting coverage. Now I'm newly widowed & alone & need to write to save my sanity.
@lorraine_luv1
When you signed on to AOL, it made all kinds of weird noises. It took so long, I would sign on standing up then go do something else & come back while it booted up.
I could go fold some laundry, make a sandwich, pour myself a drink, let the dog in, etc.
@AviFlyGirl
@tnovsa
@MurdockResists
I see school vouchers as a modern way to try to return to segregated schools. Ditto for charter schools. Leave gov't funding for public schools, from which most of our future leaders will be educated. Charter & private schools can exist for the rich without your & my taxes' help.
@Mollyploofkins
Amy Klobuchar. She's smart, very experienced in negotiating agreements, knows & understands DC politics, has a lot of good problem-solving ideas, & has never lost an election.
@ACTBrigitte
When it's over. Christmas is sad for a widow, especially if her husband was a person who did a lot of decorating, etc. My husband took 3 days putting up all the decorations inside & outside, another 3 days taking it all down after New Year's. I helped, but I wasn't a lot of help.
@LostBoysPress
Never thought of it until you asked. I have a bookstore in IITH owned by a lady with the last name Reid, so I named it Reid's Reads.
I think I would have a big pirate chest in the window overflowing with books & call it "Books to Treasure."
@anniecrownbooks
Me too, and that's the kind of men I write into my leads. I have no use for the ones who give you grief. I think it might have been Danielle Steele who said, "I've been loved by men worth being loved by." I won't waste 50K words on someone I wouldn't want.
@IDontSpeakWhine
Maybe he works long hours? Out before dawn & back after dark, so that's the only time he can mow? 9 isn't an unreasonable hour to make noise.
@JaeMargal
On my left is a bunch of unrelated papers that I just haven't gotten around to deciding where each piece should go. When I finally do, there's a good chance that most of them will go into the wastebasket or shredder. Oh yes, & my mouse. I'm left-handed.
@davenewworld_2
I saw that this morning on Morning Joe. He was trying to call policemen who were out in the hall while the shooter was in his room. The shooter shot more rounds after he knew they had left. He lost 11 kids from his class & was shot himself.
@lindyli
I was interested in politics since my early teens, & that was a long time ago!
I can tell you that the parties have never contrasted more than they do now.
They have also never been more divisive & uncompromising than they are now. Abhorrent!
@TAMillennial
So at least half of us are walking around without a lot of crap running through our heads?
I'm jealous!
It's impossible to hypnotize me because I can't let my brain empty of thoughts.
@hhensell
I have green eyes, skin that blisters, which I take from my father's side. He liked to sing or whistle, bragged on me a lot, had a quick temper but didn't blow it often. Mom was a tiny olive skinned lady with black hair, brown eyes, & her side of the family eat a lot of pasta.
@brclothwrites
Yes. Remember the football players who wore pink to support breast cancer awareness & research?
Louis the 14th wore pink, one of France's more masculine monarchs.
Wearing pink shows you're secure in your masculinity!
@Madiii03
Writer's Digest magazine publishes an annual market list. Check the magazine or their website. You can order it online. In fact, WD has its own set of contests, & short stories is one of many categories.
@joncoopertweets
🤚 I stand w/ them, but hate the fact that these lawsuits won't hurt his pocket a bit because we, the taxpayers, are paying his legal bills. There ought to be a law that an official using his office to do stupid things drawing lawsuits are responsible for their own legal bills.
@GirlVet1975
Yep. Weren't we beautiful then? & now you have the fun-lovingest, coolest generation of old people in the history of the world. I refused to move into a senior community until I found one that had a rock 'n' roll club with monthly dances.
@crosmaee
You just might not be a romance fan. There are so many varieties of romance that what you're saying is like saying, "I don't like fruit," when you've only tasted, say, cantaloupe, & haven't tried apples, bananas, citrus, berries, etc.
@RachelGlickler
No. It would be too late for them to do anything about it & would only hurt their feelings. If it was good enough for the editor & publisher, you might want to consider submitting yours to them the next time around.
@thisone0verhere
Several HGTV fix-up shows are easy to watch repeatedly. My favorite is the one set in Detroit, where 2 men go into trashed neighborhoods, buy a whole block of homes, & fix them up to be livable, artsy, & unique. Reminds me of the Coconut Grove section of Miami in the early '70's.
@albinofirebird
@thegoodgodabove
What a field day for the meek,
A thousand people in the street
Singing songs & carrying signs
Getting so much resistance from behind.
