In US PhD programs, Master’s degrees are often treated as a formality along the way. But these actually mean a lot to me- only the 2nd and 3rd higher degrees of any kind in my entire extended family (after my sister)! The path isn’t over, but I’m proud of how far we’ve come ✨

Kept reading the phrase "contact binary" in a paper and imagining something like MU69, which didn't make sense in the context, and then looked it up and?? realized there are lots of stars orbiting each other THAT closely??? how did I miss this for so long, space is so cool?!!?!

Just received news that my 85-year-old grandma is getting her COVID vaccine tonight!! Couldn't have asked for a better birthday gift -- best way to end the day ❤️
