Sharing unfiltered insights on entrepreneurship while working 9-5. Founder 6-fig Marketing Consultancy. Documenting my writing journey as an unashamed dyslexic.
I’m 28
➔ I’ve built a $100k/yr agency
➔ Led teams in $100M companies
➔ About to launch an Ecom brand
All while working a 9-5
But this isn’t even the full picture
The truth is...
My journey was brutally difficult.
Ever since I was 5
@AlexHormozi
This proves that:
- nothing is a big deal
- no one thinks about you
- the problem only exists in your mind
This should reduce 99% of your worries
Congratulations!
You’ve stumbled across this weird corner of X.
I’m Moiz...
And my account is all about growing online
through experimentation.
I’ve had some wins:
• Built a 6-fig agency
• Built a 6-fig property biz
• Generated $5m+ for household brands in EMEA and APAC
I was 17.
I worked at a bank.
That week, it was my manager's 30th year on the job.
His reward?
$400 gift card and a thank-you email.
I'll never forget the look on his face.
He looked dead inside.
I left the next day.
There’s 87 days left in 2024
My October goals:
1. Hire 1 new employee
2. Onboard 2 new clients
3. Get 100 more followers
4. Launch our 1st e-com product
What are yours?
My agency made $100k+ last year
But these were the first 6 months:
Month 1: $0
Month 2: $0
Month 3: $0
Month 4: $500
Month 5: $0
Month 6: $3275
Month 7:$10750
Growth isn’t linear.
Keep going.
I used to post into the void.
It sucked.
But now?
My posts get 600+ views
Even without 1000s of followers
How?
➜ Make it shorter
➜ Make it more emotive
➜ Identify winning posts
Keep iterating.
I’m 28
My family and friends want me to:
• Settle down
• Own a home
• Start a family
But I won’t because
My goals are to:
• Build a successful business
• Create an impact in society
• Retire my dad
Don’t make decisions just for approval.
Follow your own path.
@AlexHormozi
A good product:
• solves your customer’s pain point
• fulfils their dream outcome fast
• creates a good user experience
Once you get this right, everything becomes 10x easier in business
I used to think you had to be smart to be an entrepreneur.
But then I realized...
You just need courage and consistency.
Proof?
I built my agency to six figures in 8 months.
I’m 28.
And I’m seen as a failure.
Why?
• Still in my 9-5
• I live with a flatmate
• Don’t work 4 hours a day
But the truth is, I could leave the 9-5 today.
But I choose not to.
Why?
Because I’m in a risky phase of scaling.
I’m:
• Scaling the agency and hiring
•
We hit 700 followers today!
Thank you for supporting me.
But honestly,
I didn’t start X to be a creator.
Why’d I join?
To overcome my fear of writing.
You see I’m painfully dyslexic.
Which means words don’t come naturally to me.
But your vote in me gives me confidence
To
I’m almost at 800 followers!
But I’ll be honest
I’ve not been on X much recently
Why?
I’ve been building my new product.
It's risky and it may fail,
But I’m all in.
Thank you for your support!
@AlexHormozi
If you label something as negative
It become negative:
- Failure —> Learning
- Difficult —> For now
- Rejection —> Redirection
It’s all about perspective.
I never started X to make money
I started it to overcome a fear.
Let me explain...
I’m dyslexic
This means that:
• My spelling is weak
• My grammar is poor
• Writing is hard impossible
The result?
I avoided writing:
• Voice note over text
• Call instead of email
•
Most online brands suck at optimising their offer.
You followed Hormozi’s book, got some sales, yet it never really took off.
But after spending 100s of hours optimising offers for 9 fig brands, here’s 4 key principles you can use to perfect yours 🧵

The Hormozi offer
Worst business advice I’ve received?
“More volume is always better”
What a lie.
Because volume without iteration?
It’s just wasted effort.
Take action and adapt.
@AlexHormozi
Relate to this hard.
I’m dyslexic and got bad grades in university.
I topped the class
I built a 6 figure business
I learnt how to write online
All because I was willing to work while others partied every night.
So something happened...
This week, I logged onto X
And saw that we hit 500 followers!
In just 12 days, we went from
400 ➝ 500 followers
Thank you, everyone!
Keep experimenting on X.
Next stop: 600 followers
Let's make it happen :)
I gain 5-10 followers/day
The crazy part?
I only engage 30mins a day
Here’s 3 growth systems I use whilst working my hectic 9-5:
━━━━━⍟━━━━━
1) Set engagement blocks
━━━━━⍟━━━━━
I engage in 15min blocks during my day
To maximise time make 2 lists
1.
I stopped chasing perfection
I stopped trying to learn everything
I stopped listening to everyone's advice
Why?
Because noise kills progress.
Instead, trust your instinct and lead with action.
I thought I was bad at entrepreneurship
When my 1st business failed.
But during my 9-5, a senior partner reframed my thinking
He said:
It takes:
• 5 years to become a doctor
• 5 years to become a lawyer
• 5 years to become a useful consultant
It takes time to get
I made solid progress this week:
• Hit 4x workouts
• Signed 1 new client
• Reached 800 followers
• Picked up film photography again
What were your wins?
I made $100k+ in 9 months
While working my 9-5
How?
By not being cheap
I invested my salary:
➜ Bought courses
➜ Worked with mentors
➜ Hired help for expert tasks
The more you learn, the more you earn.
I hit 700 followers this week
Even as a dyslexic dude
Where writing doesn’t come naturally.
Here's how you can do it too:
Write broad
Write with emotion
Write like no one’s watching
Don’t write to blend in
Be bold.
Be someone worth following.
Mediocre Offer:
“I guarantee you 1000 followers in 30 days”
Premium Offer:
“We’ll run 100s of experiments with our expertise and double down on what works”
Bigger numbers isn’t a better offer.
I don’t post Shopify results
I don’t post my clients online
I don’t post bank screenshots
Why?
Because high-calibre clients care about competition and secrecy.
Stop cheapening your brand for short-term flexes.
Want to write better content on X?
Focus on the following:
• Quantity
• Novelty
• Quality
Without these, you'll be just another copycat among 97% of X accounts.
“Why haven’t you monetised yet?”
• I already have one 6-figure business
• I can’t give full attention to more clients
• If I can’t overdeliver 10x value, I don’t want to charge
You don’t need to monetise early
You need to monetise when you can deliver
I’ll be honest with you.
This summer was hard:
• I worked 12hrs in my 9 to 5
• Worked on my business during vacay
• Had no social life or time spent with loved ones
I focused on scaling my business’ success.
The result?
I spent 80% of my time indoors
All in front of a
I had a friend who hated his 9-5 job.
He would:
• Complain
• Take on minimal work
• Worry about what to do next in life.
2 years later, he got promoted.
Now he:
• Earns 6 figs
• Complains
• Takes on minimal work
• Worries about what to do next in life.
Don’t have your
I went from 0 ➝ 6 figures in 9 months.
Whilst working 9-7
And I still have a life.
How?
Here's my 5 rules to build a side hustle without sacrificing living:
‘Solopreneurship will give me freedom’
I disagree
You’ll have to answer to clients
You’ll have to create content for the algo
You’ll have to work more than 4 hours a day
It’s not about freedom.
It’s about finding what doesn’t feel like work.
Heard this before?
Business is easy
4-hour workdays
10k/mo is around the corner
That’s your guru’s favourite marketing angle.
Ironically, once you understand why it works
You’ll hit $10k/mo much faster.
“X is saturated”
Good.
Why?
It means there’s demand.
Want to win?
Focus on:
• Product
• Perception
• Positioning
Be the best offer for someone’s account, not everyone’s
I don’t overthink X too much.
Instead, I treat 'building an audience'
like playing Pacman.
You stack skills on:
• Writing
• Storytelling
• Offer Creation
To unlock levels of monetisation.
The more skills you stack, the more levels you unlock
My business makes 6 figures.
But I’m not doing it for myself
Instead?
I want to:
· Scale my e-com brand
· Uplift a community in South Asia
· Donate to a local school in Punjab
It’s a lofty goal
But some things are worth trying.
I can't believe this.
18 months ago, my agency was at 0.
Yet we made $100k+ profit last year.
Here's the secret behind it...
We signed $1M+ clients
Using the marketing concept called ‘Signalling’
It states that when you spend time, money or effort
on something, it
I used to work for a multi-millionaire
When we started the company, we didn't office.
Instead, we worked in a 5-star hotel in London
And paid for overpriced coffee.
I didn’t get why.
But 7 months later he:
• Got a free office
• His second hire
• The first big client
All
I’m excited.
Business has hit new records
We signed three 5-figure contracts recently.
But now we’re making a big decision.
What is it?
To stop taking in more clients.
Sure we could…
• Expand our business
• Send more cold emails
• Double our current revenue
But we
How to get more clients:
1. Lie about your achievements
2. Repost reviews from the same 3 clients
3. Spam your newsletter all over your account
Or you could just:
Build a great product and get your clients amazing results.
It’s your choice.
Thought ➝ Felt ➝ Did
Is how I used to think.
But in 2024 I switched to:
Think ➝ Do ➝ Feel.
The result?
• Started building on X
• Built a 6 figure business
• Ran my first half marathon
Don’t let feelings get in the way of compounding.
Oct 2023:
• Overthinking X
• Unsure of what to write
• Doubting my skills as a dyslexic
Oct 2024:
• Published 11,000 posts
• Gained up to 800+ followers
• Improving my writing every day
At 17, I spoke to a career advisor
She gave me questionable advice.
I took a skills test and she recommended a career path
What was it?
Become a librarian.
The problem?
I’m dyslexic.
Remember you’ll always be the best decision-maker for your life.
Biggest lie I’ve heard?
Entrepreneurship is easier than 9-5
The truth is it’s hard:
• Failing often
• Stressing about risk
• Feeling out of your depth
Is it worth it? I think so.
But set your expectations.
@AlexHormozi
Hard work is respected worldwide
Because it shows:
- you're focused
- you're disciplined
- you're mentally strong
You don't need anything else, just hard work
It all started 9 months ago...
I dreamt about a product
Today?
I’m travelling to finalise it.
Here are 5 biggest lessons I learnt while building my Ecom brand 🧵
I nearly burned out 6 months ago.
Here’s how you can too:
• Don't celebrate small wins
• Pursue productivity 24/7
• Constant stimulation
• Doom-scroll on X
Protect your biggest asset.
We signed a $4k client last week.
It's smaller than our usual contracts.
But we did it anyway.
Why?
Because it means we can:
• Build trust
• Over deliver
• Upsell higher value work
Stop chasing short-term cash.
Think bigger.
@AlexHormozi
The people ahead of you:
• are working harder
• moving with speed
• giving it their all
If you want what they have, listen to their advice.
Not other people.
Last year, several of my friends hit 100k salaries.
But, I took a 50% pay cut.
So when they:
• Bought their 1st homes
• Flew on holiday 3x year
• Started driving their new BMWs
I felt like I was failing.
Until I realized I was lucky.
How?
At some stage in our lives, we
I don't believe in doing more.
Why?
If you're putting volume on the:
• Wrong business
• Wrong content
• Wrong offer
You'll still get $0.
Apply volume on the right inputs.
Last month, my dad said something I’ll never forget.
He said “I need support”.
I dropped everything and jumped on a train home.
What had happened?
He was being sued for medical malpractice.
The kicker?
The patient brought the claim on his last shift.
My dad was
