Was at Ziauddin today for some tests. Saw a group of doctors near the (cleared out) entrances in PPE’s ready to receive (what looked like) an 11-12 year old Covid-19 +ve kid who looked critical. It was awful. Attempts to downplay how bad this virus is are absolutely heinous.

One of my doctors is critically ill & on a ventilator at a hospital in Karachi. I met him over a month ago for a consult, he was perfectly healthy & in v good spirits. It's hard to imagine the same person is now fighting for his life. A doctor. One of those that fix/help us.

We have been w/o electricity for over 24 hours now. It’s OK. I feel v privileged. Unlike many others, our home didn’t fall apart & wasn’t flooded. We have food, water & fuel. It’s not too hot but we take occasional phone charging breaks in the car. Yeh waqt bhi guzar jaey ga.

⚫️ What bothers me is that everything was normal again in #Quetta just a couple of hours after the bomb explosion in Hazarganji that killed 20 people and injured 48 others. No disruption in traffic. No added security. Life went on as usual. Almost as if it had never happened.
