Delighted with the firm’s rankings in The Legal 500 (Legalease). Being recognised in Tier 3 (out of 6) for Commercial Litigation along side such such stellar competition is a huge compliment.
They have really captured our ethos and it’s nice to hear oth…
So the rule of 6 comes into effect on Monday but
@BorisJohnson
hasn’t bothered to publish any law yet . Massive sweeping changes to our liberty will be no doubt published over the weekend at the last minute. What do you say about this
@BarristerSecret
?
The
@GoodLawProject
and their legal team at
@ris_law
and
@11KBW
are just brilliant. Here is their crowd justice page for the latest action against our corrupt government. Their letter of claim is sublime.
@JolyonMaugham
go get them!
Police now seeing sense (I am personally a monarchist but support the right of republicans to protest.)
@MaajidNawaz
@BarristerSecret
@Joanna__Hardy
Police chiefs say anti-monarchists have the right to protest
My 6 year old daughter made some rocky road. She didn’t want anyone eating it so made a sign which she said said “do not touch.”
We’ve asked her school to focus more on spelling next term.
Congratulations to
@GoodLawProject
and
@JolyonMaugham
on this excellent victory ✌️ holding the most authoritarian government we’ve had in over a century to account. Government is not above the law.

I was clearing out my grandparents loft last weekend and stumbled across this. Could it be the original manuscript of
@BarristerSecret
’s book I thought? No it turns out it was a pre PowerPoint presentation prepared by my mum whilst at teacher training college in the 70s.
My Nan died this morning aged 93. She’s gone to be with my grandad Ron who died 3 years ago. It wasn’t COVID but I’ve not seen her for a year because of COVID. The indirect effects of the disease are just as cruel.

I’ve just received a letter before action from my own firm
@DebenhamsOtt
acting for a colleague, a
@LFC
supporter, with whom I had a better over the
@ChampionsLeague
final with
@SpursOfficial
. I’ve responded to point out that gambling debts are not enforceable but I will pay.
Looks like
@British_Airways
picked a fight with the wrong passenger. Well handled by Charles Banner QC in the extensive comment he gave to the
@DailyMailUK
.
I feel a little hard done by
@BarristerSecret
. All these silks having their twitter follower numbers massaged by Secret Barrister PR Inc whilst humble solicitor Tweeps like I linger at a mere 1300. Help a brother out SB! 😏

This is what became of my late father’s tie collection. His taste in ties was a little different to mine but they make a great wall hanging.
I made an announcement today on LinkedIn concerning my leaving
@DebenhamsOtt
at the end of April 2020 and that I will be co-founding a litigation boutique with Marc Keidan as of 1 May 2020. Details are here
It’s 2021, a hard nosed litigator starts a day in the office but this time it’s different, he has a new recruit.
COMING SOON to a cinema near you.
The Recruit
Staring Luke Harrison as the litigator and Zahra Harrison as the genius prodigy apprentice.
Right that was a long day. Up at 6am “in the office” by 6:30am. An hours break for a bike ride, half an hour for dinner (it was a “working lunch”) and now (11:20pm) for a glass of wine. That will teach me for setting up a new law firm whilst working my notice during a pandemic.
Pleased to get through the
@SRA_solicitors
authorisation for
@KeidanHarrison
today. We start trading 1st May from 44 Southampton Buildings, LONDON as a specialist disputes and
#insolvency
boutique law firm. We are recruiting for associates (please see website).
It was a real travesty of justice that the protective costs order application made by
@JolyonMaugham
was refused . The Aarhus Costs Rules should be expanded for more public interest lit, a point made by Jackson LJ when he was preparing his second report.
Pleasure to have my first (and hopefully not last) conference with
@McDermottQC
today. He really is the real deal and I hope I get to tell
@ChambersGuides
about him next year.
@ShipBrief
A contrary view is that they are standing up for their right to a family life by finding a crack in the law (which in any event infringes disproportionately that right). Proportionality is a balancing exercise. The government has not weighted the other side of the scales.
@louisetickle
Seriously that was unnessary.
@pjm1kbw
was hardly bragging. He was sharing some calming footage to enrich the lives of others. Perhaps be a little slower on the trigger next time!
So this happened today -
@KeidanHarrison
featured in the

Best Law Firm 2023. A testament to the hard work and commitment to quality and value of the whole team.
The racism directed at the penalty takers last night is a disgrace.
Online racism is racism full stop.
Twitter should block the users and their IP addresses for life and hand their details over to the police.
Asked my 6 year old this evening what she wanted to when she got older.
She said an 🍦 ice cream van lady.
I said that’s nice but what about the winter.
She said when it’s winter I’ll take the day off.
Sorted then!
Does anyone know of a website connecting Ukrainian refugees with people who can give them a place to stay. I have a house in France I’d like to make available.
@stormzy
Oh dear
@m417ead
our semi private rant on listening to grime music on a Sunday morning has been retweets to over 1m people. I’m now getting trolled.
@stormzy
don’t get me wrong I don’t dislike the song but prefer “blinded by your grace.” 🤗
A timely reminder of why unnecessarily aggressive conduct and baseless allegations of wrongdoing against the other side’s legal representatives rarely find favour with the Court. These old school litigation tactics ought to have long since disappeared.
I’m cooking the turkey 🦃 and have found the butcher’s cooking instructions a little unorthodox.
He wrote “let the turkey chill in the sink for a few hours before cooking.”
I can’t see how this will enhance the texture or flavour but hey ho.
Reporting a fellow solicitor to the SRA is not something you do lightly. Not least when it’s someone you had come to respect. As it turned out the report I and 5 others made uncovered much wider wrongdoing. This is the right result. Via

Just received a call from a legal recruiter (R):-
R: Hello is that Luke Tucker?
Me: No it’s Luke Harrison.
R: Oh I see. I am recruiting for a Partner role at a leading national firm. Would you be interested?
Me: But I recently Co-founded this firm?
R: Err, [penny drops].

there is one woman who stands out for me and it’s my wife Melissa Harrison (aka Melie). She is my rock, my pillar and my shoulder to cry on. I’m nothing without her and I don’t tell her that enough.
My wife is not happy with me this morning. I made scrambled eggs with paprika and put it back in the cupboard next to the cinnamon. She has just made yoghurt, granola and paprika! 🙄
I have an autistic son and sadly discrimination against those on the spectrum is rife. We talk so much about diversity for those with physical disability, based on sex, sexual orientation and religion but it is time to start talking about neuro diversity and that needs education
#trainstrike
that is not a strike but where
@TLRailUK
can’t be bothered to or failed to plan to run a proper service. Train drivers need to get real, they earn good money to push forward on a joy stick. If they don’t like it sack them and hire someone who will value the job.
My virtual leaving doo (albeit I formally leave in two weeks time) Thanks Robyn in my team for organising a “Luke” themed quiz. I particularly like the ? “which billionaire famously said of Luke “how come I hired [city firm] and that surfer dude from St Albans keeps beating me.”
@JolyonMaugham
You are wrong, the companies who were handed the massive PPE contracts with no proper procurement are laughing 😆 until you wipe the 😊 smiles off their faces!
@Barristerblog
Isn’t that what the employment tribunal is for?
I have to say if I was paying Eton school fees I wouldn’t want this fruit loop teaching my kids.
Stopped by for a social distance visit with my 88 year old “adopted” French grandma. My parents purchased our house in the Vosges from her 28 years ago and we’ve been like family ever since. She is incredible, she only recently gave up hunting wild boar.
Wonderful to receive some pictures of my 94 year old nan today who I haven’t seen since Boxing Day last year. Keeping family apart, particularly the elderly, is one of the cruelest features of COVID.
The hotel we stayed at last night has a buffet breakfast. There is something about buffet breakfasts that turn human beings into a plague of locusts Quite how people think they are going to eat the three croissants 🥐and 2 pain au chocolate after a full English I don’t know!
Second to last day remote working for 4 1/2 weeks here. Will miss this sort of view on an evening dog walk. Will be back next summer. Colleagues and clients don’t seem bothered where I work from so why not.
#vivelafrance
I’ve posted this before but proud to post it again. The second solider in on the right (who is catching the Queen’s gaze) is my grandad, Ronald Tucker Booth. He was in the grenadier guards and had just returned, in 1948, from a tour of duty in what was Palestine.
It’s finally happening. 18 months late. I’m getting in the ring. 12 lbs to loose and a lot of fitness to gain to get down to my fight weight. Guess I’m going light on the booze then for the summer!
