It's actually unbelievable how dogshit Google search has become. Searching for 'UE5 PCG spline' yielded this embarrassment, over 50% of the top 50 results are scam sites or whatever they are trying to be. This has become a constant problem with basically any search.

Procedural ivy generator Currently working on this with #Houdini Engine and #UnrealEngine ! It takes a selection of meshes from the world, bakes them to a paintable mesh, and generates ivy based on the vertex painted areas. #UE4 #indiedev #procedural #indiegame #gamedev

Finally happy with Chaos in UE5 after spending many hours tweaking settings to get this unscientific test scene's game thread from a 20ms jittery mess to a stable 4.5-6.5ms, and FPS stable at around 120-135. Convex collisions too. Seems promising now, I prefer the look to Physx

Made a way for spiders to spawn. The hatching is triggered by proximity to Lucen, with some randomisation on delay and radius. The sims are done in #Houdini , and brought into #UE4 with vertex animation textures. Much, much more in the works I can't wait to share! #gamedev

Chaos destruction on the ue5-main branch is much-improved compared to 5.0.x. Still a lot of issues and some breaking bugs but it's definitely in a far better place performance-wise.

One of the big reasons I have been experimenting is to be able to use Epic's SunSky setup for time of day and atmosphere in Lucen. It is deceptively hard getting environments to look seamlessly correct/good at all times of day, but SunSky has made it a bit easier! #UE4 #Houdini

@dhindes Vertex animation synced with the skeletal animation I reckon! It could have been simulated or animated in a DCC (Maya or Houdini) and then you can bake the vertex data out to texture to read in and manipulate the mesh verts of the shirt at runtime.

The other day Chris suggested trying out forward rendering on Lucen - and it has been a huuuuge performance boost over deferred, with no visual consequences, and I'm now able to use MSAA too which is so much more crisp. This thread is worth a read

Making a game that isn't taking advantage of the Deferred Renderer? Then try out the Forward Renderer! It's not just for VR. It's one checkbox in #UE4 and in the right project is can almost double your framerate plus it has optional MSAA!
