Very sad to hear that Peter Brown has passed away. Peter has done so much for cricket in the North East as a whole, as well as for @BillQuayCC that he will be almost impossible to replace. More importantly, he was a great man of good humour and will be tremendously missed. RIP.

Durham lost all future test rights due to their finances, and didn’t owe anything like what Yorkshire do. Yorkshire pleading poverty to get tests back is a massive slap in the face to Durham, who lest we forget were mandated to build a test ground by ECB

Whatever you think of the hilarity of the Defoe retirement from a playing perspective; he’s clearly a decent bloke with strong values and deserves a long and happy retirement. What he did for Bradley Lowery showed a humanity not often found in society and shouldn’t be forgotten.
