Fun fact about Sabre fencing, there is an explicit rule that you cannot put your back foot in front of your front foot, because otherwise the optimal strategy for both fencers would be to sprint at each other as soon as the ref said go. Sabre is the Guilty Gear of fencing.

@Kalyx_triaD Fencing is pretty far from actual sword fighting, especially foil and sabre, where right of way rules means that you take risks that you never would with a real sword. As for rigid, limiting rulesets, I am a fighting game player now, so that should tell you all you need, haha

Coming out as a victim can be almost as traumatic as their abuse. Technicals' willingness to exploit people's trauma makes it harder for other victims to speak out. These are not the actions of someone who cares about the community or the people in it.

The issue is that Infiltration was a top player and therefore a community representative. Letting someone who leaves their wife bruised and begging “stop choking me” represent the FGC makes it fundamentally unsafe for women, even if he has perfect behavior at events.

@Nepkco @yampidimp It’s been in the game since launch and I’ve never seen anyone use it in a serious match. Air eddie drills are kinda busted, but 50 meter is really expensive for that effect, especially considering how often you need that meter to do sword super.

The way we stop abuse from happening in our community is by creating a culture where victims feel safe to speak out. If your first reaction to a victim's statement is to go "this community sucks and should die!" you are punishing them for holding their abusers accountable.

I don't blame people for losing faith, but these conversations aren't happening because the FGC is an irredeemable cesspool, they're happening because the FGC is an amazing place filled with amazing people, who deserve better than to have abusers running free at their events.

Woke up at 7 am, spent an entire morning putting out fires and solving problems, TO’d a 45 person Tekken bracket, and despite being totally exhausted and my voice being shot by the time I sat down to play my first match, I got 13th/44 in Strive and 13th/58 in SF6. I’m him.

You know how in fighting game plots the big bad puts on a tournament to see who the strongest is? That’s going to be me tomorrow at SuperNOVA, except instead of being the secret final boss, I’m going to be fighting for my life to not job out.

I had to play Cheryo on stream for winner’s side pools in Strive and now I have to play iDom on stream for winner’s side pools in SF6. This keeps happening to me 💀💀💀 worst part is that i have to be on p2 side for stream and i can’t divekick consistently on that side…
