maybe one day i’ll shut up about the substance but did anyone see this as a batshit body horror cinderella??? the dress??? the hair??? everything falling apart??? the new year’s eve show??? midnight???
@virgo_XVII
definitely caught those vibes when elisabeth became the hunchback of note dame!!!!! she looked smack like the hag giving snow white the apple
@sarahmhawkinson
definitely feel like you’re not very versed in the classic horror genre tbh it’s kinda like shoving the medicine down when it’s anything beyond the 2000s or anything that isn’t trashy :( maybe broaden your horizons…..watch creature from the black lagoon like is it that hard
@AbeMcalaster
and who created the society that capitalizes and preys on women’s deepest insecurities and causes girls as young as 10 to develop eating disorders??? 3 letters. starts with an m.
i know we’re all gagging over the possession break dance but this tiny little moment in the first omen when it didn’t show how she left the car and it insinuates she back bended in reverse 😭 soooooo many creative moments
not to be gay and dramatic but it is just so refreshing when actresses go all in and i feel like i always use isabelle adjani in possession as the standard for these things but body horror is so fucking back!!!!!!! demi moore is 61 years old mind you
Emma Roberts says she finds the criticism of ‘nepo-babies’ to be female-focused:
“Why is no one calling out George Clooney for being a nepo baby? I feel like young girls get it harder with the nepo-baby thing. I don’t really see people calling out sons of famous actors.”
the substance (2024) far exceeding my expectations in every way shape and form, demi moore is actually incredible??? a genre bending performance and so physically demanding. levels of cronenberg, akira, the blob and yuzna omfg what a wild wacky beautiful ride 20/10 stars
@AbeMcalaster
you sound as though you don’t have any strong women in your life and for that i am sorry but it is no one’s job especially not mine to tell you why you’re dumb by insinuating all women are monolithic
2.2 million ppl have now been recommended the substance bc of my tweet. go watch/support while it’s still in theaters but in the meantime, take care of yourself.
messiah of evil (1973) a young woman goes looking for her missing father in a surreal California city overrun by a cult of the flesh eating walking dead
evil dead (2013) now i’ve seen every exploitation film you can think of but as far as evil dead goes? this is the farthest and most invasive violating they’ve ever gone with the tree sequence. the colors, the score with HEADPHONES oh my god, it’s nauseating. it just feels wrong.
apartment 7a (2024) people are being WAY too hard on this film. yes it has a lot of the same beats as the original but the acting wasn’t bad AT ALL???? and at some small moments they got the textures and the light bleeding into the frame almost a glow soooo exact??? it was lovely
sometimes i feel like ppl purposely try to misunderstand the coconut tree thing kamala said???? 😭 unless i’m completely wrong but she was saying we didn’t just come from nowhere??? when we come into the world we become products of everything/everyone that came before us
something i love about sydney sweeney specifically is that she isn’t afraid to look ugly or crazy she contorts her face in all different shapes like a leviathan bc this is so unhinged but that’s what makes it great! a real actress! SHE ATE THAT!
miranda (1948) it’s almost creepy how hyper realistic it was for the time and she’s so cunty 😭 she just goes around trying to steal husbands it was kinda risqué at the time
Tate McRae is no longer eligible for Best New Artist at the Grammys as she has already been submitted for consideration three times, according to Billboard.
nightmare castle (1965) a mad scientist catches his wife fucking the gardener and TERROR ENSUES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! starring icon legend queen barbara steele
i spit on your grave (1978) this film fundamentally changed me as a human being, i don’t think i am the same person prior to watching it. it is a brutal, evil, gut wrenching experience with a very cathartic pay off but the directors vision is so clear. it is visually stunning.
the haunting (1963) a very uncanny valley experience that’s hard to put into words. the sound effects are sooooooo ewwww it sounds like tentacles thrashing around to me 😭 idefk what it sounds like
shivers (1975) genuinely shocked at how much i loved this film…..reminded me of night of the living dead mixed with invasion of the body snatchers???? AND BARBARA STEELE????? everything i’ve ever wanted
