June 15, 2012: NASCAR broke the 200 mph barrier for the first time in 25 years. During qualifying at the newly-repaved Michigan, Marcos Ambrose won the pole with a speed of 203.241 mph
Imagine telling someone 10 years ago that RCR will be the most hated team in NASCAR in 2024 and oh yea....Kyle busch is part of that team but is the only likeable part about it....they'll never believe you
2024 NASCAR Cup Schedule:
Likey to happen:
•Brickyard 400 (Oval)
•International Race
50/50 chance of happening:
•Rockingham Returns
•Milwaukee mile gets a cup date
•Bristol dirt doesn't return
•Chicagoland Returns
Likely not happening:
•Chicago street course
Listened to the Dale Jr Download earlier and Jr told Jamie McMurray that people want him in the booth and Jamie said that FOX doesnt see him as that guy. Hearing that was infuriating. How do you not realize how well spoken Jamie McMurray is? He'll bring so much to the broadcast
Im listening to the Dale Jr Download and kyle Larson called in and he said one of the engine guys at hendrick said they can bring not just 750hp but a 1000 horsepower the very next week and it wouldn't cost more. So the tapered spacer being on for all these years was for nothing
Seeing larson this pumped up was amazing and just made me go even more crazy celebrating lol. I loved it. It reminded me so much of when Dale earnhardt jr won the 2014 Daytona 500 and was pumping the crowd up. My two all time favorites doing similar things!
Yes...this is the cup series. The races are supposed to be long. I'm tired of people wanting shorter races because they got the attention span of a goldfish
I really hate that fox doesn't listen to constructive criticism. So many people have let it be known that they hate the cartoon graphics but they proceed to stick with them. That's just one of many complaints we have towards their coverage
Aye...whoever this guy is in the booth for the ARCA race FOX better hire him full time. Get him in the truck booth. Phil parsons seem to really gel with him too. He sounds like he's actually into the race
Still hilarious how it took 10 years for the NASCAR media to realize how hated this playoff format is. You'll have someone like Dave Moody say that this is new but really it's not. Fans been complaining about it since it's inception
Im getting so sick of this push of wanting shorter races. If NASCAR can eventually get the car to race good at all track types then people won't care about how long a race is because of a good on track product. And if you just can't handle a 3-4 hour race then cup ain't for you
I agree with
@AndrewKurlandTV
here especially since I think that a lot of races could be shorter in general if you want fans to keep their attention on them.
Well look at that....a car flips on a paved run off. Grass or no grass you can't stop a car from flipping which makes them removing grass from all of these race tracks unnecessary
It actually leaves a bad taste in a lot fans mouths every year because the format is a complete crapshoot which makes people not take the championship as seriously. NASCAR looked at hocevar dumping the dominant truck of the season in the finale and saw nothing wrong with that
The elimination era of the
#NASCARPlayoffs
has left us with memories we'll never forget.
This week, as we spotlight 10 incredible years, we want you to vote for the best moment!
If fox really is the reason why last night's race got called then that's one of a thousand reasons of why they shouldn't be broadcasting NASCAR. Get the fuck out of the sport if you don't care because clearly their showing that they don't. Crazy to say because I use to love fox
I prefer superspeedway racing like this instead of 3 by 3 pack racing. I like handling being a premium and driver's actually having to work for their runs
Alan bestwick talks about the new tire goodyear brought to the 2004 Daytona 500. The tire had more wear and it's something driver's pushed for so that a cars handling and a driver skill played more of a role in deciding the winner of the race. Can they do this nowadays please!
It's actually a good thing it won't be FOX. What fan wants to sit there and see very little of the race because of all the commercials that's gonna be played? Not to mention everything else that is wrong with yall coverage
I call Bullshit
Truex is one of the cleanest drivers in NASCAR. I wouldn't expect him to race a lap car so aggressively. This is a guy that refuses to use his bumper to win races so do you really think he's gonna waste his time racing someone like danica so aggressively? Lol
In March 2003, Ryan Newman broke the track record at Bristol with a monster qualifying lap. It was the first time a lap under 15 seconds was run at Bristol and stood as the record for 10 years
14.908 seconds, 128.709 mph
All I ask for when it comes to the NASCAR 25 game by iracing is:
•A game that actually functions
•Good physics all around (something similar to ETX in terms of driving physics would be nice
•Good AI
•A thunder 03/04 Career mode
•the basics (mirrors, look behind etc...)
NASCAR fans not understanding how big of a deal this is of what larson is trying to accomplish. Yall sound fucking stupid. It's a exhibition race they pushing back for only 30 minutes. Yall will be fine
What i want to see from a NASCAR Amazon broadcast:
• Mike Tirico, Dale jr and Todd Gordon as the commentators
•4K quality
•Less commercials
•More information (telemetry and stats)
•Turn up ambient noise so we can hear the crowd
•Effort into the starting grid
I always wished EA would've kept Dale jr name in budweiser font instead of the DEI logo in later games. It was damn near accurate to what he ran in real life
@bobpockrass
Fans wanna see cars on track and they taking more and more of that away every year. What makes speedweeks special is the large amount of on track activity and unfortunately that's becoming less and less
Its so fucking clear FOX doesnt care. I really wish they weren't part of the new TV deal. While NBC is far from perfect they still blow FOX out of the water. I really can't wait to see what Amazon and Warner will bring to the table. I feel like they might shit on FOX and NBC
One of the cleaner superspeedway races in recent memory, Rick Allen with an amazing call, and you can hear the crowd going crazy. Underrated Talladega finish in my opinion. I remember not many people was thrilled after this race for whatever reason
Look how many people are replying to this tweet with videos of when the cup cars high horsepower. Speed attracts. The sound of the cars attracts. Quit making the cars slower and just give the people what they want for crying outloud. This shit is getting irritating
After qualifying at Atlanta, there is a 10-minute "practice" that is specific to practicing pit-road entry because Atlanta has two pit-road speeds -- one on the apron in Turn 3 and then another when getting to pit road on Turn 4.
Aero push, something that everyone complains about today but it was also a big complaint during NASCAR glory days to. In 2002 NBC showed a segment of drivers talking about how bad aero push had become and literally everything that was said in this video is what is said today
One thing that frustrate me as a Kyle larson fan is that he can never win in a 1v1 battle with a driver. A lot of larsons wins in cup have either been dominant or he'll come out of nowhere on a late restart. Itll be nice if he can come out victorious for once in 1v1 duels
#NASCAR
The remainder of the NASCAR Xfinity Series season will have coverage from NBC Sports.
One more FOX Sports race left for NASCAR’s top-2 levels with the Cup Series tomorrow.
*Dirty air enters the chat*
I'm gonna have a good laugh when the Brickyard gets here. I'll give it 20 laps before we start hearing complaints. The gen 7 car is awful with dirty air and indy is a single groove track. Trying to pull up to someone's back bumper will be impossible
It's just crazy to me that nascar was really close to running this package with the Gen 7 cars until teams begged them to ditch it and thankfully nascar did. I just don't understand why they don't listen to the guys that actually drive these things more often
I guarantee he wouldn't miss the 600 if they ran a full season points format where every race would mattered. People are gonna be pissed if they give him a wavier but this is the sticky situations nascar has to deal with when they got such a stupid ass format in place
NASCAR so far hasn't told us its decision on a waiver for Larson but has/will have communicated a decision to Hendrick. I would expect him to get the waiver. He needs a waiver b/c rule is he driver must start every race to be playoff eligible. Allgaier on standby for the. 600.
I wish we could have more finishes like this at superspeedways where theyll slice and dice all the way to the checkers without causing a wreck and sending the race into GWC or ending under caution. Theres a 99% chance one of those two happens tonight which is gonna be infuriating
Idk why this is being debated. He's just having a good time. Everything has to be debated nowadays and it's irritating. That's the annoying thing about social media
@DaleJr
Everyone think it's RCR but what if it was jr moving his team up to cup and he gets the 8 from Richard Childress and hires Kyle busch. That would be a twist
Mark Martin giving a very detailed breakdown of his qualifying run during his cooldown lap.
Huge credit to speed channel for letting us listen in to the whole description. Pretty cool breakdown from mark lol
Carson hocevar is going into cup with not the best reputation. Kinda like ty gibbs but I'll say its worse. I feel like Carson has caused more trouble than what ty did when he was in the lower series. But to ty gibbs credit he cleaned it up so far. Will Carson do the same?
Everyone complains about paint schemes not being memorable anymore and the reason why is because teams are constantly switching the scheme up every year and plus sponsors don't sign on for a full season anymore. Here's a scheme that's been consistent but people hate on it
Since Fall Talladega of 2020, the HendrickCars scheme has run 75 races, featured across all 3 major series, starring Hendrick’s 4 drivers piloting them, 7 different numbers (5, 7, 10, 17, 24, 51, 88) & 14 wins.
With an 18% win rate, & a championship, this scheme is dominant.
Multiple green white checkers, stage cautions to bunch the field up, win and youre in......
Sounds like you guys want things to get messy with all of these gimmicks in place. Kudos for the dillon penalty but its still a lot that needs to be changed to make this less of a circus
Chris Rice just said if horsepower is increased we run the strong possibility of cars being more spread out. Is that what you are looking for?

I think the best compromise is to run a superspeedway style race in the spring and then run 670hp 4 inch spoiler in the summer. Atlanta has two races so why not try that? You will satisfy both crowds. And btw I hope SMI doesnt get carry away and reconfigure every 1.5 like Atlanta
@BlackFlagMatter
I think he needed a new team around him. The 41 hasn't been good in years. I think preece is the best driver to get into that ride since kurt busch but the team needs a overhaul to truly compete
@jeff_gluck
It was a good race but that rain caution left a sour taste in my mouth. I feel like going forward they should leave the race green and just let the teams make the decision whether they come in for rain tires or stay on slicks. Plus implement local yellows, dump stage cautions
Chase elliott has flown under the radar this year. He on some Matt Kenseth 2003 shit.Not being too flashy he just continues to pile on the top 10s. Very consistent. Too bad consistency doesn't really win titles anymore
So....to nascar fans this is considered whining. A driver showing proof that he got right reared. If you considered this whining you need to shut the fuck up. Put your hate for a driver to the side and actually look at the situation. I'm baffled by the comments to this tweet
Removing all doubt. His steering came back to the exact same position it had previously after we came off the wall.
The higher the line on steering the further LEFT it’s going.
I haven't watched race hub in years because it's turned into a show where analysts have to tow the company line instead of giving their true thoughts about the sport. And this is just another example of FOX dropping the ball. I'm just thinking about that Ray Dunlap tweet
@BlackFlagMatter
Kurt busch from 2007-2014. I couldn't be on the same team with someone that has that bad of a attitude. Glad he got himself together but man during that time period he was really toxic
Its surprising to me that both FOX and NBC don't put effort into the starting lineup. Instead of just seeing the names scrolling on the bottom can we see the race cars next to their names and the scheme that their in for that particular race? Is that too much to ask?
It took me this long to realize these illustrations could work as NASCAR on FOX graphics.
And made a little tribute to the 2004 tickers which I grew up with.
(yes I'm aware that's not the same Row 1 as the image 🤣)
@NASCARignition
Stages and private lobbies......things that should've been in the game from the start. We don't even know if they'll function correctly and not to mention hopefully not mess other things up in the game. Don't get too hyped about this. Don't be gullible people
@jeff_gluck
It's sad that nascar doesn't listen to their drivers. I could see careers not lasting long because there's such a divide right now of what nascar wants and what the driver's and fans want. Nascar is letting TV partners and manufacturers walk all over them
It bothers me so much that NASCAR has pretty much left it up to goodyear to improve the racing product. Yes we need more tire wear but nascar has kinda put them in a tough spot because their trying to develop tires for a race package that makes it difficult to create tire wear
NASCAR will try the multiple tire concept for a points paying race next month at Richmond, the latest attempt to improve NextGen short track racing
Crew chiefs applaud the effort but have mixed thoughts on its viability
@BlackFlagMatter
I see nothing wrong with what I'm watching. Not every race is gonna be like what we saw the past 2 weeks. But today's race is still a solid race
NASCAR would struck gold if this all happened this year:
(Thread)
•Bubba Wallace,Ross Chastain and Chase Elliott all winning multiple races
•Kyle Larson not only doing the double but performing extremely well (possibly winning one of the events)
•These 4 guys being the final 4
NASCAR really said " yea we're leaving it up to goodyear to save short track racing because we sure as hell ain't bout to do nothing about it even though we could make major underbody changes, get rid of shifting and add a ton of power to the cars"
@windVOW8820
Just imagine telling someone back in the year 2004 that nascar games in the 2020s won't have a rear view mirror, fuel and tire wear gauge, a career mode that pretty much feels like season mode, and etc....just absolutely pathetic man
@bobpockrass
Matt has every right to be upset. He was going for 6th and most likely would've gotten another top 10 which would've helped him inch closer to making the playoffs. He was 30 something points out going into this race now he's 60 out

It was solid. Idk if fans nowadays appreciate a driver trying to work someone over. Passing was possible yesterday but you had to really work for it. Glad tires really weared out. If the cars had more power it probably would've been better
@BlackFlagMatter
Nascar just needs to let any developer make nascar games. Get rid of the exclusive license deal. It'll be cool to see multiple developers making NASCAR games. That way we'll have options
@A_S12
I get tired of quotes like this. Until manufacturers is without a doubt joining nascar I don't wanna hear anymore quotes like this. We been hearing stuff like this since the mid 2010s
