Everyone, I had hot food. The people at the restaurant hooked it up, added a ton of sides and tea. We finally found a way out of the airport after de-boarding at midnight last night. Close to 8hrs ago and being in the dark. I will continue this thread for baggage information.

Why I boarded the plane? The hurricane didn't hit yet. NYC has a ton of warnings then they completely bypass us. It was supposed to hit us at 11am, at 6pm there was still not a drop. We boarded 7pm. 715pm it went to shit. We don't have that visibility. Airlines do. It's on them.

I'm going on 24hrs awake and 14hrs stuck at Newark Liberty Airport EWR...5+ of those hours stuck on the physical plane stranded in threat of going partially under water due to Hurricane Ida. A hurricane we knew was coming but @United did not delay nor cancel the flight.

I got a Jetblue flight for 630am. I have to sleep/stay here no matter what because of flooding. It's 1:20am. I have to get Tampa because there's no way they can get bags off with the entire baggage area literally under water so I will have to physically retrieve it. @EWRairport

I know these aren't airlines but hotels are handling this swimmingly. I could not show up for my last night's reservation. Absolutely no proof needed. Full refund from Hilton. JW Marriott said I can email them when I get more info and they will adjust/refund my res accordingly.

Ok, so all flights are cancelled indefinitely. And our bags are stranded. We may be able to have them take it off tomorrow but everything is up in the air. My travel to Tampa is currently on hold until I get to my apt. Apparently the AirTran can get us to an unflooded area.
