skip to loafer general spoilers
one thing that i'll always be very grateful of skip to loafer is really how they highlight so much the "i love you as a person" mindset — and how that is present in all the narrative, not only on shima and mitsumi's relationship.
if you felt you had to “perform” as a child in order to receive the love & recognition you craved, you might feel guilty or resistant to feeling joy to its fullest extent
your body is interpreting joy as a threat to the performance, and thus as a threat to your access to love
skip to loafer chapter 60 analysis and brief character study on shima // spoilers
a light and fun chapter that hides something between the lines: how frankenstein's loneliness and revolt becomes a mirror for shima's feelings
i think a lot about how much nekomata's words changed kuroo's life forever. what may have been something so simple for him was such a huge revolution in that boy's life. so much so that now it’s his turn to lower other nets and change the lives of many other children
this whole chapter (specially this scene) always bring me so much love. one of the reasons is because mitsumi is extremely young here, so she has no idea how impactful her action was and how much hope she gave nao. sometimes, big moments are hidden between small actions 💛
since skip to loafer is on break, why not use this as an opportunity to learn more about misaki takamatsu-sensei's work and dive a little bit into her other mangas?

mahmoud at one point worked at an ice cream shop in gaza, he had a regular life and job at one point and now he worries that he will not escape gaza and get this life back
he hopes to get his GFM to €30,000 soon he is €5400 away from that goal
the greatness that nao's presence has in the girls' lives is undeniable, but we also need to remember how she is finally receiving a second chance through them, how being by their side allows her to find peace with her own adolescence.
i think it would be unfair of me to see the pride month starting and not talk about one of my favorite mangas of all time. i want to be a wall is a story about family, love and the security of arriving home to someone who can understand you for who you are.
i think this specific moment will always be the peak of haikyuu to me. takeda was just trying to make sure hinata was safe, but little did he know how he would change his life forever. will never get tired of repeating that the hinata we have today is also thanks to him

the analogy of between a crab and falling in love: what’s hidding in between all the sand that shima hides himself in?
i always find it funny when people say slice of life is boring. where else would you find someone dropping the most life changing shows topping phrase in the middle of a 7 eleven?????
i love the feeling that haikyuu is really never ending because we always have a new special about jt, be it just an illustration or a full new chapter — with a callback to old lessons. there’s wasn’t an ending: they are still growing with us 💛
my skip to loafer blind boxes arrived so fast 😭💛 i decided to buy 4 random ones to live the full experience and not only i got all the mitsumis, but no repeat AT ALL!! (the fact that *i* got 1 shima is hilarious to me honestly). THEY ARE SO PERFEEEEECT

skip to loafer reiterated its message of "i love you as a person" in a soft and fun chapter. and with that, takamatu-sensei prepares us for a new arc that promises to be full of unforgettable moments.
it’s really fools day because i could swear this was a season two announcement and it’s just them saying congratulations to new student year. it’s me, i’m the fool

between monster and doctors, the ones who are fit to survive are the ones who are ready to bare their souls to the world — and sometimes, the one to do so it’s the one we expect the contrary.
if i had a nickel every time authors used crab as an analogy for aroace, i would have two nickels. which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice
well, it’s already april 4th in japan, which means we can start celebrating skip to loafer’s one year anniversary 👞🌸!! thank you to the production and the staff who made everything full of love and dedication, giving us an amazing anime!
omg you know those illustrations the animators release after the episode airs? imagine if they make one of mitsumi in the rain? or something related to shima as a gangster??
i think people might find it funny for me to say that, since they are chapters that definitely have a romantic undertone to it, but this weeks episode covers one of my favorite moments of shima and mitsumi, in terms their platonic relationship.
i’m very excited for this week’s episode because its importance is huge. there’s a hundreds of layers hidden between it, but in the end, it represents exactly what skip to loafer wants to say: everyone deserves kindness and a chance to show who they truly are.
this ao3 discussion just makes me think about how the pressure to write in huge quantities with good quality and extravagant productions and the urge to gain recognition (kudos, comments, rts, etc) is driving people away from fandom creations
i know i talk about it a lot, but i’m extremely grateful with how skip to loafer really emphasize the “i love you as a person” message, be it between shima and mitsumi or even between the girls. it shows how much they love and respect each other as individuals
honestly? i’m quite excited to know which of our haikyuu boys have started a family, if they are married, if they are playing for new teams, or just how everyone is up to, would love to know if tanaka and kiyoko had a baby. these little things brings me a lot of joy
forever grateful for skip to loafer for celebrating female friendship and how important it is to a teenage girl. forever grateful for a story that prioritizes friendship and companionship 💛💛
i admit that when i saw the chapter on comic days i was surprised!!!!!!! i thought it would be out on the 24th, but either way CHAPTER 63 IS HERE AND THE KYOTO ARC STARTS NOW LET'S GOOOO
from the child who couldn't speak his mind to the boy who's ready to face what he loves. when i say he's growing, i mean that he's about to surprise us even strongly than we first thought. proud of my boy
here and there, this mika moment comes back to mind. it's such a beautiful and impactful moment, such big realization to a girl who was denied so much — and also denied things to herself. mika forced so many changes on her and now is finding herself again, little by little.
skip to loafer chapters 22 and 23 - episode 12 // spoilers
is heartbreaking that we have to say goodbye to an anime adaptation that brought such beloved characters to life. but deciding to finish season 1 with the ending of the festival arc was the best choice they ever made.
skip to loafer chapter 58 analyze // spoilers
takamatsu-sensei continues with her beautiful and delicate writing, respecting her characters so that they themselves come into their own at the right moments — extending even to the secondary characters.
skip to loafer chapter 52 // spoilers
this was a chapter dedicated for the one we had to leave behind. fumi came full of love to show us how mitsumi grew with so much love and care, with someone who would be there for her no matter what.
