Our crews continue to work around the clock to safely restore power to the communities we’re proud to serve. We continue to make progress - out of the more than 346,000 customers impacted, more than 222,000 customers across our service area have been restored as of this evening.
Thank you for your patience as our crews continue to help the community recover from what is now the third most significant event in our company's history, impacting more than 300,000 customers, downed more than 2,500 power lines and broke more than 230 utility poles.

VIDEO: Here’s a look at the damage on Versailles Road in Lexington. Friday’s storm storm took down hundreds of wires across our service areas & damaged many poles. At peak, nearly 170,000 customers were impacted, ranking this among the top five storms to hit our system.
We understand restoration is taking longer than usual. This was one of the worst storms we have seen in recent history & damage was widespread. We are pulling in all available personnel and putting them on rotation along with additional mutual assistance.

Our crews continue to access the extensive damage caused by this storm and historic wind event, which is the third most significant weather event in our company’s history. This storm impacted nearly 300,000 customers and brought down 1,700 power lines.

We're working safely and quickly to get our remaining customers back on today. Some of this final restoration work is time intensive as it involves resetting new poles and restringing wires. We appreciate your continued patience.
As we work through the restoration process, we continue to adjust estimated restoration times & update them on our outage map. Many of these have been updated this afternoon. We encourage customers without service to check the map for latest information.

In just over 24 hours, we’ve restored service to more than 118,000 of those customers and our crews are working around the clock as they tackle the heavy-lifting associated with the remaining 20 percent of outages.

UPDATE: 50 mph wind gusts and 35 mph sustained winds affected 42,000 customers. Crews worked through the night to restore nearly 97 percent of customers, with only 1,400 customers remaining. We’re continuing to restore power and appreciate your patience.
